I'm Chinese. I'll say this. We will export the technologies and knowledge to you at our best capacity, in Jan 2025, we just made the most advanced AI called DeepSeek R1 opensource to the world. African brothers and sisters, you have a choice. To make life good for your people. Because we have been in a inferior positions before. Been looked down at, been laughed at, been smeared at. But we didn't lose our focus, because we remembered the hardship we went through and we as people are deteremined to make a good life. 加油!

China does not do things for optics. In stark contrast to the non-stop big talks, promises, noise and theatrics in the US and the west. Chinese do not like the spotlight. They prefer doing as opposed to talking.
@barrywong4327Күн бұрын
It’s no secret. Decades ago, the Chinese leaders made several insights about the world: 1. The west has been deliberately suppressing the economic growth and development of the global majority. It extracts from the global majority but has no concerns about the well-being of these nations and people. 2. The US is cleverly running a monetary and financial scheme whereby US dollars are continuously recycled back to the US to help with its development, consumption and military buildup. It made no sense for China to keep loaning its hard-earned trade surplus money to the US. By doing so, it simply helps to perpetuate the US domination of the world. The BRI was created so that China could channel its surplus money to invest in the global majority, and away from the US. It’s brilliant. It kills two birds with one stone. As the global majority grows, it changes the dynamics of the world order. China’s treasures would be put to good use instead of towards US’ military buildup and all the sinister things the US does around the world. China has no wish to be a global empire like the US. All it aspires to do is to move the world on a course towards a fairer, more just and more harmonious place.

What difference will it make? Evil is evil. A nation built on genocide & slavery & hell bent on global domination & imperialism. Also it's not a war in Gaza...it's a Holocaust...and so what if it stops briefly...what about the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians butchered by IsrAel & the US? We simply forget about that and move on? When will this country face it's reckoning?

China Trade Surpluses of 1.7 trillions stem from trading with over 150 countries , perhaps, and not solely surplus from SA. SA may represents minor figures if others are excluded. That wasn't the main points. The main point is, through this Surpluses , it enables China to pay attentions to the developments of SA & other parts of the world . If without surplus , could China invest for the betterments of SA. Only with surplus China could plays its roles effectively for the growth of BELT initiatives & Brics development or Brics world Bank or any future needs of Brics members countries. For sure there shall be more to come. Be it in healths, Climate Issues, Famines, other form of cooperations, etc, all these need a body/institution to be implemented or setup. We need credible & stable backer to lean on. Things doesn't fall on its places without necessary ingredients. Who else could play this roles & in the better position for the development of 3rd world. In the post world war era, USA has been the key players for the growth & developments of Western Hemispheres. Most if these Western Hemispheres emerged to become advanced & wealthy countries. All is becos USA is playing the farther figures to the European. Thats how these countries success. Now, in Brics, who should be the Nucleus of the groups, the father figures. China would not be able to play a productive roles if they're in delipidated state & remained poor. Our human cells, millions of them, are control by its Nucleus ( Atom). In school, you have headmaster, etc. As when western Hemispheres are hardly hit by Economic turmoil & not in the best position to socalled overseeing the needs of global players.we are fortunate to have China as something that we could lean to. Sadly, each times when China make a move, the world always have a negative views or prejudice in it. Mind us, China has grown for decades, nobody seems to worry as nothing seems threatening but now suddenly & unnecessarily we're worried eventhough for decades nobody seems to worry. For 4 or 5 decades, we have seen China grow without anxiety but suddenly we feel anxiety about it. Nothing has gone wrong & will never go wrong. But, if China losses its Surpluses then probably something may go wrong ( becos, it is poor now) . Thinking about our rice bowls & foods on the table, other initiatives, faith of global south, may render Brics Belts or others becoming less effective ( possibly) , weaker, or dysfunctional, etc, etc. No one knows. The necessary ingredients or one of the necessary ingredient or useful ingredient is missing. For better world Bang Disclaimer - for academic purpose only & based on conjectures.

Right, you treat all these autocrats and thieves really nice. What matters, though is how the people are treated. And the judgement on that is still out. Let's wait until China is THE superpower, when they no longer have restraints. Like the West was. Besides, why don't you ask the Dalai Lama how China treats foreign leaders. Or Taiwans elected President. Or the government of Lithuania for daring to pursue Lithuanian interests instead of preemptively submitting themselves to China. 😂❤ If America and Europe are so bad shouldn't they be better?

I think the important thing to consider is that China buys raw materials from Africa, these materials hold a lot of value in terms of the economic value of refinement and manufacturing that occurs in China that isn't priced into the import, whereas what Africa imports from China is finished consumer products that have less value in terms of fueling industrial activity and economic growth.
@antwango3 күн бұрын
Africa isnt just purchasing consumer products... Africa is purchasing Chinese infrastructure and expertise and knowledge.... infrastructure that is future proof and ahead of the west that will last.... chinese are bringng their medical knowledge and expertise... chinese arent just bringing their phones, chinese have partnered with africans to manufacture and make their own phones and phone companies... chinese are teaching africans how to green the desert and make land arrable, grow rice.... roadways, 5G networks, water desalination plants, i wouldnt be ssurprised if powerplants are being constructed.... China literally building a civilisation from scratch because noone else will help apart from take advantage of africa.... africa doesnt have any goods that china needs or wants.... apart from resource and minerals and grain and fruit.... and grain and fruit china already has

When you have a trade imbalance, it makes little sense to ask the other country to buy more from you, to fix the said imbalance. Why? Because you didn't produce what the other country wanted. So rather than asking China to fix SA's trade deficit issue, its perhaps more productive for the SA government to ask itself; what can we produce that Chinese consumers (or companies) want?

South African workers cannot compete with Asian workers. In hours and productivity and innovation the Asians have a distinct advantage. Our National Education system? How many outstanding international academic achievements can be attributed to South Africans ? Yes one has to use American Google to find the answers.
@warrennelson51903 күн бұрын
How would South african exports benefit the majority African population? The export economy of SA is predominantly for the benefit of white neocolonial capital. For that reason these numbers are not important to the transformation of our economy. What we need is infrastructure and development capital.
@ericgardiner77153 күн бұрын
The value of trade produces tax revenue for the SA government that it can spend on the people of South Africa and rectify the damages of colonisation if it wasn't full of corrupt looters from the ANC.
@warrennelson51903 күн бұрын
@ericgardiner7715 except that the government doesn't have to rely on tax revenue for public spending because it is the only entity that creates and distributes money. Instead it gives the newly minted money to private banks and borrows it back. The system is rigged to enrich the oligarchs not the people.

Just wanna share something funny with you all. Last year, when the China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit was held in Beijing, the national leaders were meeting in the Beijing Conference Center, and my little sis (she's seven) happened to pass by the building after returning from school. The front gate of the building was crowded with African journalists, staff, and security guards, which was fascinating to her. So she decided to perform cartwheels for them on the street as a friendly greeting (while showing off her gymnastic skills). The audience was... quite amused. Anyways, welcome to China, people will be friendly to you here!
