Chagos is a long distance away from Mauritius. It is outrageous that Mauritius gets Chagos and not the Chagosian exiles who don't want this deal!

United Nations and its top international court has declared that the Chagos Islands belongs to Mauritius. UK is obligated to hand over the islands. Mauritius does have claim to the Islands. It was part of Mauritius before 1965. Majority of the people in Mauritius is Indian. The negotations are about UK handing it over in a polite and friendly way complying with UN resolutions. There is no such thing as not handing it over. The UN requires the UK to hand the islands over to Mauritus. Mr. Trump is not going to change anything. UN decision is final. UK is not a relevant geopolitical power any more, just an island. 😀
