we have stayed twice at akumal and we love it/ Our favorite restaurants are Mikado, Alum, Maiko and mashua nikkei. The hacienda, casino and sports bar are welcoming at night time. highly recommended

There have been excavations inside Bamburgh & outside on the Dunes. Burials were found in the Dunes, but cant remember how old they are.

My father and his sister lived in the castle during WW2 being evacuated there after their brother died as a result of the bombing of Newcastle we often visited people in the castle when I was a kid in the sixties.

I was born and live in the middle of all this! The very best places locally have not been used as locations yet. How they missed Castle Gloom in the Hillfoots is beyond me! It is incredible, perched on a cliff between the burns of care and sorrow.

You're not pronouncing Bamburgh correctly. I grew up there. It is pronounced Bamburra.

On a historic note, the original castle was already in excess of 400 years old before the time of Uhtred, who actually had a very limited historical impact. Just a note to foreign visitors: its pronounced Bam-brer and not Bam- ber-er

I was a child in Peoria at that time. Brought back a lot of memories. I so miss the Steak n Shake on SW Adams street. Me ad my dad ate there at least twice a week. Back then society was normal. I now live in New York. Hate it here. I plan on going back to visit Peoria in the not too distant future. My dad is buried there.

Great video you guys. Please tell me this. I have knee issues and going up and down stairs is a problem wirh me. Does this resort have facilities in place (elevators, ramps, golf carts etc) to help me get everywhere I might want to go? (ie: from room to restaurants, beach, pool etc..) Tough call. Palladium is much newer and has better air conditioning in the restaurants. The 2 story room we had at Palladium was the best room we ever had. Loved the beach pool at Palladium too. Rooms are older at Bahia, unless you get a remodeled one. Much larger selection of restaurants at Bahia, but air con not great except for Don Pablo’s. Bahia is much larger overall with more entertainment options. I would go back to both. It just depends on what you are looking for.
