Culloden Battlefield

Culloden Battlefield is located about 5 miles East of Inverness. This is the battlefield where the 1745 Jacobite Rising ended. In a battle that lasted less than 1 hour, 1,600 men were killed and 1,500 of them were Jacobites.
Here the Jacobite army fought the British Monarchy in a fight to restore the crown of the Stuart King James VIII. The battle was led by Prince Charles Edward Stuart or Bonnie Prince Charlie as he was known.
This battle forever changed life in the Scottish Highlands.
This battle was a main story element of the TV Series "Outlander" as well.
