I just discovered your channel today because I'm new PhD student in social sciences and I have to deal with my imposter syndrome, my procrastination, etc. I'm so glad I discovered your videos. You're inspiring me to gain self-confidence and to organize my work. We're all were we're supposed to be. Otherwise, I'm so surprise that your accent made you feel as an imposteur because, as a French, I absolutely love it ! 100% sure it's one of my favorite type of english accent haha :)

I hope this message finds you well. I am currently in Grade 11 studying in Dubai and have selected Psychology without Mathematics my subjects are Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. As I am considering my future academic path, I have developed a strong interest in pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience. However, I do have some concerns, particularly regarding my skills in science, I find myself weaker in mathematics, which is why I opted to avoid it in my current studies. Given this, I would greatly appreciate your advice on whether this would impact my ability to pursue a degree in Neuroscience and how I might address this challenge. Additionally, my long-term goal is to study and work in Canada, and I am curious about the opportunities available in the field of Neuroscience there. I would love your insights on the job prospects, industry growth, and potential career paths for Neuroscience graduates in Canada. Your guidance on these matters would be invaluable to me as I plan my future.

I appreciate your effort for this video and you provided some interesting tips. However you never show for example the actual spreadsheet etc.. It is just dialogue hence difficult to follow through.

The only kind of self sabotage I do is procrastination while feeling bad for procrastinating. Even though almost everything is done eventually, the amount of guilt I feel because of not doing it instead of doing it before it really seriously is the last moment to do something that needs to be done is just not worth it. I still do it. Lately, I am actively working on breaking it. I am forcing myself to work on it. It is worth it and I feel better because of it.

I studied physics in my BSc and nanophotonics engineering in my MSc. Now, I want to pursue a career in neuroscience because I have developed a recent interest in this field. I aspire to work beyond academia and be involved in the medical process, treating patients or working on the fabrication of bio-tech devices that aid in the treatment process. Can I achieve this goal by pursuing a PhD in neuroscience, or should I have studied in medical fields from the beginning?

Hey guys Im currently a sophomore in high school. Currrently I only have background in computer science and don’t know if should switch to learning about bio/nuero ( not sure if it is too late now). Is there anything you guys may suggest doing /learning to see if I actually like the field or not ?

Hy, how many papers do you used to read per day. It is really challenging to read many papers and retrive relevant information. Can you provide your suggestions?

I think that it's more of a time issue and a priority issue. If you have time and it's important than be analytical. If you don't have time or good info use instincts.

You are amazing! I am amazed and such a smart lady. And you explain really well. Which you explained on another video that in neuroscience studies you really learn to explain and be critical and detailed. So you've got that skill. It's amazing. You explain and inform so in depth and in an understanding way in which not many people can do. I have knowledge about lots, aviation, medicine (not really neurology) and when I explain, though I know lots, I explain so poorly. So you've got a great skill. I hope to develop this. 😅 you're amazing! I subscribed. This is good to learn for my own emotional health also. As I struggle with my mind haha. So I find this scientifically useful and also emotinally ❤

Self sabotage is definitely real and psychologically quite a normal thing I feel. I've not looked into it greatly. Social media definitely makes it very known but in a way that obviously isn't deep and psychological. I think there's a lot of factors to self sabotage. Self doubt, fight or flight etc. You've explained really medically well. I'm new to medicine so... you're the pro explaining all of this and really taught a lot here. I'm blown away by this!!
@Cam25-00311 ай бұрын
You're amazing!! Watched a few of your videos. I want to go into more nursing or paramedic science route but really got interested in the sound of neuroscience. This video is great also. My thoughts go wild. I can overthink and self doubt a lot. And yes self sabotage. But I think people with this mindset (overthinking etc) are great. I think it's our strength as it makes use really think until we have a solution and solve problem. It a big strength. X

I am a student in Nigeria studying anatomy. When I am done I plan to do msc in Neuroscience then PhD too. Can this part lead me to clinical Neuroscience and can I then propose for medcine? Moreso is all the Neuroscience same. Like if I study molecular biology and some stuff as a course, can I then study PhD in a related field and become a clinical neuroscientist. Or am I to stuck to a particular one? Please reply

this was really helpful for me, thank you! It felt realistic, and just being there with you as you went through your best laid plan, through reality, through dismal weather, and seeing how you handle setbacks and go on was really helpful. A lot of productivity videos are like, beautiful bullet journals and how to use apps to organize yr calendar and etc, which look super pretty but I know myself - i will make a pretty calendar and not follow it at all. Seeing how you kept on task through it all helped lots.

What we alcoholics know is that hangziety, which is real and terrifying, is the progression of alcoholism for many. Its a progressive disease. I remember explicitly the first time it happened, it was horrifying. And it never went away because I did not stop drinking. It just gets a worse, you no longer have hangovers. You have withdrawals. Over and over again, every time I drink. I eventually learned what it really was and knew and understood that I had crossed the line, and could never have a drink, mulch less binge drink without the most severe hangziety along with horrible withdrawal. Haven’t had a drink in 7 years, no more hangziety. But if I tried, I would immediately go right back to where I was when I quit, you don’t just start your drinking career from the beginning again. It does not go away ever, it lies dormant in an alcoholic drinker. I hope people watching this understand that this kind of drinking, having hangziety, is not good. It is a very slippery slope for many people, they just don’t understand the progressive nature of alcoholism. Be careful.
