Not that I plan to be driving fast but is there a max speed for 4L and should I put snow cables on front or rear tires? Thank you so much!

The access for the driving modes for 4wd are definitely easier to get to as opposed to the third gen knob.

Unless a vehicle has a knock sensor linked to the ignition advance, higher octane than the manufacturer recommends is NOT going to increase HP or torque. It is generally done on cars that recommend high octane as protection for when owners put in lower octane fuel. I do not know if the 3.5l Toyota engine has this but I suspect not, otherwise they would recommend a higher than 87 octane and note peak HP and Torque numbers based on the higher rating. My take on those who feel otherwise are either benefiting from better quality fuel additives or poor quality 87 octane fuels. To each his own, but the video seems spot on.

Hey man, I’ve been there a long time ago but I can’t remember if you find good spots for target shooting, did you come across any? I’d like to go try a suppressor and I’m digging this trial for some cool lite off-roading as well.

So my Tacoma performed better with premium and my Silverado high country w6.2l spark knocks on anything but premium. Premium is better. For me. I’ll pay the high ass prices.

My owners manual indicates a torque spec of 85 ft lbs, which lines up with the 113nm that you mentioned. I definitely follow that recommendation for my aluminum wheels that use a washer on the lug nut as the contact point between the lugs and the wheels, but for my steel winter wheels I torque them to 100 ft lbs because they contact the wheel at the tip of the lug nut and do not use a washer.

Is it okay to leave it on drive and change to 4h. Or does it have to be parked? It worked for me leaving it on drive with the breaks pushed down of course.

Manual says to drive 10 miles a month in 4hi to keep it maintained well. You said only to engage it in slippery surfaces, so would you not recommend going to 4hi once a month on the roads for 10 miles?
@trdtakeover
@trdtakeover 26 күн бұрын
Correct. Do not engage on normal roads. If you're going to do the 10miles per month recommendation, you'll still need to find some slippery surfaces.

Had a very good experience with Techron recently using it to clean up carbon buildup that was interfering with my valves on a 225000 mile engine. One bottle will be added at the end of my oil change intervals (OCI) from here on out to prevent the cheap gas I buy from buggering everything up. (Use at the end of an OCI to make sure that the contaminants that come from the additive, like broken down carbon, are removed quickly.)

I have the premium offroad package on my off Road. I love everything about it. It cost me $53k. It was worth it. I bought my first 4W drive toyota pickup in 1985, It cost me $12 new.. I loved the truck. When I drove it to my new job in Portland, OR I wound up trading it off for a 1989 4-runner. It was the top of the line at cost me $24K. Yes, i paid a lot for my new 24 Tacoma Off-Road with the premium package. The technology raises the prices on all vehicles. After 40 years I am still happy with my Toyota Truck purchase. I bet my little 85 truck is probably still running and delivering someplace. Every once in a while I see the on the road. It makes me smile.

ECT is for towing. Your truck will not shift into overdrive if the ECT is on and this will result in lower mpg. If you want to "fix" the tacoma the proper way, get the KDMAX or OTT tune.

whatever octane you use, the ECU needs to adjust to it. Your timing will need to advance or retard depending on the octane. That's why it may feel faster or sluggish but most of the time, it's in people's heads

Great looking truck, whenever I eventually buy a 4th gen Im hoping to get a white TRD off road as well with the manual trans. I have a first gen which I will be keeping. I used to have a 91 pickup and Im so glad Toyota went back to a fully boxed frame. Adding coils and disc brakes in the rear is also a huge plus. The 4cyl doesn't bother me at all. Most powerful engine in any Tacoma. Toyota makes legendary 4 cylinder motors and they even had a 2.4 Turbo back in the 80s at one point.

So how do you get to that multi-information display???? Mine looks exactly the same as you've been showing from 0:45 to 1:15 and there is nothing even resembling that screen with pressures. I thought I don't even have TPMS up until I bought new set of tires on the Marketplace, and TPMS warning light came on. 2020 Tacoma SR.
