Nice and clear explanation. Sir, in the real world practice, are these force reactions at Node #1, are actually acting at a point which is the interface of footing and column? Thanks in advance for the reply.

at 23:40 how are I1 and I2 different?It appears you have plugged the same variables into the same equation, so how is it a different outcome?
@structuralinsider8671 Жыл бұрын
If you notice carefully, there are two terms in the expression to calculate I1 and I2. In case if I1, both terms are connected by a plus sign and for I2, both terms are connected by a minus sign. This results in the difference in values of I1 and I2. Note that the expressions are not same as seem to have assumed.

Brilliantly explained, and solved my years long doubt. But I still have a doubt about not considering the gravity load of floor coming directly on the column in the form of axial load. Can you explain it in upcoming tutorials?

If you can help me understand your question with a little more explanation, I will surely consider making a video on that.

Sir how did u decide which one is major which one is minor? I mean, for this problem I can clearly see that rotated y axis is the minor, but sometimes i can't see that.
@structuralinsider8671 Жыл бұрын
You do not need to decide. The major principal axis is the one about which highest moment of inertia occurs. This will be the highest value among all the possible axis systems possible for the cross section. Similarly, the minor principal axis is about which the lowest moment of inertia occurs. So, mathematics would tell you which is the major and which is the minor principal axis - you do not need to decide on that. I request you to please refer to my class on principal axis. The link to that class is: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKWkh3yhqc52pJI

Simply to say, when you are checking on overturning and sliding check you can directly use the result from the statics check result provided that your point of reference is correct.

Sir , Could we have used offset specification to vertical column to achieve practical position of beam column junction in your model (9:43) in staad pro? Would it be correct modelling approach to use offset specification to column instead of beam considering all fixed support ?
@hanzalamusheerkhan8277 Жыл бұрын
Yep it also works.... And then you don't need to assign any master slave node.

Thanks Sir , Why and how to release forces in release specification of beam? As a considering intersection of two beam junction (+ shape beam junction) . Can we rearrange the transfer of load to beam as a primary or secondary by releasing Fy forces properly at (+ shape) beam junction having equal span of column ?

Does offsetting the beam to flange of the column in staad helps to reduce the loading value sir??
@simplified9066 Жыл бұрын
If you offset the beam, there will be a reduction in the member length and hence the bending moment gets reduced and we will get the same result as we have obtained now

Thank you very much sir, We watch your webinar on modelling, analysis and design of underground water tank,well, you made template for impulsive and convective pressure for water wave sloshing, Sir is there any in built features in staad pro, so that we can directly use convective and impulsive waves rather than using template??? Because sir, when we design elevated tanks, especially tanks with conical bottom, there is a problems in calculation of impulsive and convective wabe pressure using template, Sir what is the way to incorporate static seismic analysis procedure for elevated/underground tanks?? Sir, which method is economical WSM/LSM for design of tank using IS 3370 code?? Thank you sir...

What is the allowable tolarable limit of displacement(value)?
@structuralinsider86712 жыл бұрын
There is no c!ear borderline value that defines small displacement.
@structuralinsider86712 жыл бұрын
That displacement under which the structure would show linear behaviour, can be termed as within the tolerable value of displacement.

@structuralinsider86712 жыл бұрын
Thank You for your kind words. There is no Left Hand Rule in STAAD. Regarding Hinged and Roller Support, please refer to the following session - kzbin.info/www/bejne/sHnGmmaObNGggrc

@@structuralinsider8671 Hi sir, I have already watched this..i want to know specially how theta x,y,z in roller support will happen. I have taken example of roller support as rolling chair.. Hinged support as door..Gx,Gy,Gz ...Theta x,y,z how it will happen.. Thank you..
@structuralinsider86712 жыл бұрын
@@gowthamiv4841 What I have spoken about in that video is about the pinned roller support - a pinned support on wheels and thus it needed the release of thetax, thetay and thetaz. A rolling chair - which is clamped to the base with wheels does not fit this condition - because the clamping does not allow free rotation of the chair about the base - however the wheels allow translational motion. If we are to consider the base as the support, then there would not be any release for moments. Assuming the chair is free to roll along any three translational direction - the support command for the base of the chair would be FIXED BUT FX FY FZ -if you consider this in three dimensions.
Sir Thanks for your wonderful videos series. Plz explain importance of splitting beam into 3 parts vs single beam member.
@structuralinsider86712 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your encouraging words. No, you do not actually need to split the beam. I had to split the beam because I had applied the point loads as nodal loads. However, you can still use the Member Concentrated forces that would not need you to split the beam - however, the Shear Force Diagram would be approximate in this case. I would explain this particular case as we go along in the course.
