Gentrification makes places beautiful and unaffordable to the people who lived there and loved the neighborhood. All of these were poor black neighborhoods until they bought up everything and raised prices to force them out. It's amazing how seedy real estate can be. You guys are like the jock that takes the nerdy girl to a party and spikes her drink. Ever notice why they don't do rent control in up and coming areas? Because they rely on pushing the poor out for the young professional and well paid middle class.

It's the whole name, Cincinnati, Queen City or Sin City. Only Real Estate people say Cincy. It's the Cross County Highway. Call it by the name on the interstate signs, many people will never talk to you again. I'm one of them. If you ask where it is using that name, no one knows what you're talking about. It's not really on the sign if no one see's it there. Cincinnati is an insider city. And it's hard to get in. If you are born there, raised there, it's a tight bond, but the history and official stands of the city can break that bond. It did for me. I'm still an insider. A lot of racism in all of Cincinnati, but racism is what defines the West Side. Cincinnati's long history of institutionalized racism defines the city in very real ways, as in, all the highways went right through minority area's. Anger and resentment from decades of abuse is common from residents who have been subjected to that official and institutionalized abuse. I lived with my family in Clifton Heights. I'm not East Side or West Side. I'm on the Inner City Side. Both the East and the West Side say we are all the problems. But I say it's them. We have no political power. But we get all the political blame. Northside is an interesting area. It's not that Northside has any more crazy unstable people than other areas, it's just the absence of normal people in Northside that sets it apart. Kentucky is where you get cheaper liquor and see what Cincinnati could have done, but didn't. The most defining characteristic of Cincinnati is LOST OPPORTUNTIES. My favorite parks are IN ADDITION to your picks, Fairview Park, don't go after dark. Mt Storm where we drilled with the Ladder Truck when I was in the CFD. Burnet Woods, love that park, but don't go after dark. Bishop Park, so many cool little parks. Correct, lots of area's with unique features. There are some extremely dangerous area's in Cincinnati and like New Orleans, it can change quickly from one street to the next. I actually like all the chili shops, and there are chains and individual shops in different areas. But don't tell, people will go to war over their choice of chili. Best Food in the World. But I may be biased. I admit the possibility. German town, so they know what sausage is. And pastries. So Fatties in Hyde Park is good. Graeters is the best. Their Ice Cream is the best. too. Try the Double Chocolate Chip or my favorite. Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip. Their Vanilla is so good. All their ice cream is good. Then get them to give you a yeast donut with a chocolate glaze. We've all had one, but you have never tasted one like a Graeters one. There's no wax in the chocolate, it will stain you finger if you touch it. Their candies, also good, have a hardener in them or they would be unmarketable, but the chocolate on the donuts and in the ice cream. Have to try it yourself. Don't go to Finley Market down town alone. And don't park far away. You are a target in that area. Be very aware of your surrounding. Best food in the city. Chances of getting a gun pointed at you are also good. The food events are great, all the vendors need help for the day so work the events from the inside. I grew up there, lived there, worked there, was a FF there for the city. And moved away. I go back for the food and old friends. You meet the nicest people all over the world from Ohio, that left Ohio. I'm one of them.

11:47 before postwar suburbs shopping was a lot less concentrated than it is now and people were more likely to shop in their local neighborhood business districts than drive out to a shopping mall. Norwood alone had 90 grocers including dozens of Kroger's 100 years ago vs just one now- it was similar for other services and goods.

I live in cincinnati and all these neighborhoods were hidden gems perhaps back in 2015 now they are expensive AF. A real current hidden gem for housing is spring Grove village. I live there, it's on the opposite side of spring Grove cemetery from Northside. But around downtown all this stuff is old news.

We have nationally ranked zoo and art museum. Also, natural history museum is in old converted Union terminal ( railway station built 1929, main hub in the Midwest). Except if you live on the river, we don’t have floods. Mostly no hurricanes ( they are weak by the time they get here) . It rains very two weeks , everything is green , so no dried brush for fires, so far so good on earthquakes, hasn’t been a tornado in the city proper for 40 years, crime not a big deal

I grew up here (Cincy). Hyde Park is the most desirable area ($$$), then Mt Lookout. Big old houses in Walnut Hills and North Avondale. Pleasant Ridge is great for starter homes ( all built 1920’s). P Ridge is also where the young hipster families live. Don’t miss Clifton !

Fun, but you know there'd be something left out, but how do you not mention Cincinnati Art Museum, Contemporary Arts Center, and Cincinnati Zoo (much more than a cute hippo). Krohn Conservatory. Fountain Square. Also, The Ascent could be seen with the Roebling Bridge (if you're talking about goint to NKy, change video so it's looking at NKy from Cincy side). Maybe also note Smale, Sawyer, Theodore M. Berry International Friendship Parks along the River? Quibbles. Good job.

Thank you for the well done video. As a life long resident of Cincinnati its hard to imagine living elsewhere despite the ever-changing weather scene. I grew up with the Skyline family but have settled into Goldstar and smaller chili parlors ( less grease and more flavor). The restaurant landscape has evolved and my wife and I enjoy OTR restaurants before FC Cincy games , Sotto, and Alfios Boun Ciba in Hyde Park. The other thing not mentioned is the thriving art landscape from museums, galleries to live theater there is something almost every weekend to enjoy. Glad you are thriving in one of the best kept secrets of the country.

The suburbs on the east side of Cincinnati, between 71 and 275, are some of the most desirable in the city! With a variety of great school districts, housing options, and neighborhood amenities, we see a lot of clients interested in Madiera, Montgomery, and Blue Ash as well as further out in Anderson, Milford, & Loveland. MANY great options.
