1300 miles a year at eastfork,I love it. I believe people are looking for more than They really need. I understand traveling, exploring, and just seeing different states. I’ve been all around the country and I have yet to find somewhere with the seasonal diversity eastfork and be within a 15 minute drive. I don’t have to take off work to travel just to hike a day or two.

Caldwell Nature Preserve on W North Bend Road, close to exit 9 off of 75, is worth checking out. It has about 3.5 miles of trails. There is a good amount of old growth trees, a rarity in the Cincinnati area, and not a lot of overgrown honeysuckle, which seems to be common in the Cincinnati area. It’s definitely a gem that is close to the city.

I'm across the road from Sharon Woods. Love the Gorge Trail. You listed many of our favorites. I'm not familiar with Bender, so we'll try that one soon. Outside the loop is a short (2 mile loop) trail at Keehner Park in West Chester. It's up and down trails and a stream or two crossing. That's a new favorite locally. Happy Hiking!

I was going to mention shawnee lookout. Outside the loop, I guess but great hiking spot. As well as Miami whitewater. Hidden gems are Farbach Werner for a quick walk/hike on lunch break and Mitchell Memorial Forest has a short but varied-terrain nature trail that is great for after work if you're in that area.

No love for miami whitewater forest. They have 4 wooded trails. 1 part wooded and prairie. 2 go around a pond in the forest and some marshlands. the other is a pretty good workout thats just wooded. And a paved trail with a long 8 mile loop and a smaller 1 mile or so loop. (Bikes are permitted) Several horse trails a fishing lake. And shawnee run park has 3 wooded trails 2 overlooking the ohio river. I love shawnee run because its has very low volume of visitors. So 90% of the time you have the whole park to yourself during the week and its so quiet since its so far away from any factories or roads

@barongroupmedia i thought shawnee run was the correct name but its shawnee lookout. Part of great parks. One of the trails takes you to a indian fort at the top.
@mphillips438714 күн бұрын
I was just at shawnee lookout yesterday and thought it very noisy with the factory just over the Indiana state line. It kind of drones though so becomes white noise but not quiet by any means, in my opinion. I did the Blue Jacket trail which kicked my butt, but I am out of shape so that's not hard to do. 😂

I hate to complain, but I have found that every single park is clogged with honeysuckle bush. And in 20 years, every inch of wooded land in Cinci will be covered with Winter Creeper (Euonymus fortunei). None of the park managers give a darn.
