My husband unhooked the temp cable we have until they bury it because a guy was out leveling the yard. And now can't remember how to hook the optical cable back up. Any advice. It's a black router for 5 g and an Aero. It just goes green to green right ?

Did he unhook the fiber optic cable? Should only be one place that can connect on the converter. If it's for the 5G router/Wifi, it will go to the WAN port. There should be 4 ports that are LAN, and 1 port marked LAN.

@@JuanCoolDad Really? Already framed up? Wow, I drive by it daily and missed that. Yes, I saw Lennar had put up signs and had started promoting models available. The sizes are in the city plans which I have links to in most (if not all) Legado flights. I've been meaning to fly this again soon, but life has been getting in the way. I willl try to fly it this weekend, fires, and winds permitting. Yes the houses go up fast because they often (at least KB Homes does) have an off-site production which makes all the walls and trusses in mass. So, they just truck in all the parts, and then assemble on the foundation. What used to take weeks on site is now done in days.

It's best to put your money towards a better drone. I purchased the same drone, and it started malfunctioning shortly after I bought it, but I've since learned my battery being low might have been part of the reason It didn't fly right.

Agree. I was sent this unit free to do a review. So, I wanted it to do well. All of my own money has been spent on DJI drones: Avata 2, FPV, Air 2, Mini 2 and Tello. Even the Tello, which is a $100 drone flew much better, albeit you have to use your phone and wifi, so it's not the best. However the Tello is great for why I bought it: introduce my 12 year old son to drones, programming, etc. Since this review a few years ago, I've flown other similar size and budget drones, all of which were better in terms of hovering, control, etc. Those were also sent free to do reviews, and I gave them good reviews. This one, not a good review :)

@SchubertTech
@SchubertTech 3 ай бұрын
Yes, I've lost track, but I think you're about the 5-6th person to mention this. Yes, the unit was given more than enough time to GPS lock. My 4 DJI drones will GPS lock within 1-2 minutes, my remote ID GPS for home built drones lock GPS in 1-2 minutes, and then re-lock within 30 seconds. This unit sat outside while I checked for updates, etc. What you see in the video is A) not the first or last flight B) Edited for length. No one will sit there for 2 minutes while I GPS lock (on a YT video). This is a classic fly away situation. I've flown other drones who were either still getting higher locks, and then recently with high KPi (solar flares and storms which impede/interfere with GNSS) and never had it just launch. The up and down is more likely the ground effect, as the driveway is causing downward wind and prop wash back upwards. I had a tiny bit similar with my DJI Mini 2 over a pitched roof in 15 MPH winds. Once you gain altitude, the effects go away. This drone just has a bad flight controller. There's several commenters here with the same problems.

@@E90_DroneKing 60 hours in 2 weeks? That's 30 hours a week, or 4 hours a day. The battery only lasts about 15-minutes and then takes about an hour to charge. I fly DJI Air 2, Mini 2, Avata 2, FPV, as well as toy $40 drones, and the Ryze Tello. No issues with those. None of them fly away. I also have built 4 of my own drones from scratch, with no GPS on them at all. None fly away. The Vivitar has for me, and for others. It's something that sometimes "just happens." It's why DJI even offers insurance for it on their drones. So if the "fancy pants" drones which are at the top of the game have insurance for it... You know "it's a thing," and "real problem." Better drones will just have it happen less often. Your's doesn't so be happy with it. :) Mine sits in a drawer until I throw it away one day. Even if this drone were "perfect" it would still sit in a drawer because so far nothing compares to the stability and video quality of the Air 2. Not even my Avata 2 which is only about 2 months old (Air 2 is 3 years old or more).

Great video. I have an Asus RT-AC86U router I would like to use on Frontier Fiber. I currently have Spectrum cable, but I want to switch over to Frontier as it's on the side of my house already. Newer housing development. I have searched high and low trying to find out if my Asus router will work ok with Frontier as I have 2 of them meshed in the house, and I want to keep using them. They are only a few years old, and personally I think they will work find, but trying to ask Frontier, I get nothing but a bot in the chat. So hard to get information from them. I am retired and my whole career was in IT and networking. Just not sure what Frontier does in regards to other hardware. Would you think this router I have would be compatible with Frontier?
@SchubertTech
@SchubertTech 3 ай бұрын
Yes, it will 100% work. You'll just set it up exactly how you have it now. Where the cable converter out, goes into your WAN side of your router, you'll connect to the Frontier fiber converter as well. You're just swapping a coax to ethernet converter (cable modem) to a fiber to ethernet converter. If you're going to sign up with Frontier, and want to help me as well, there's a referral URL in the video description. Currently, you'll get $150 gift card and then in about 3 months they'll send me a $150 gift card too. I re-invest 100% back into the channel.

Id like to have all the equipment together and I want it installed in my office as i consider it to be my "data center"/demarc 😆. Anyway, i appreciate any input. Ive been in telecom and cable over the years, since 1994.
@SchubertTech
@SchubertTech 4 ай бұрын
It depends. In all likelihood, you have conduit for the fiber that runs from the curb, underground, and then up to a common access point (e.g. where your power, gas, water, phone come in... usually the garage area). So the installer is going to want to pull the fiber the shortest distance, which is to that common point. From there they will run Cat5E/Cat6 into your house to a location you ask for...within reason. For me, they just ran 20 feet across the garage to the hallway that's in the exact middle of my house. I put the Wifi/Router there. It was easy and the cat5 only had to go through a single wall. If you can get the installer to pull all the way to a bedroom/office might be a tough ask. Just ask the installer, can you pull the fiber all the way to a bedroom? I have a feeling the answer will be no because pulling fiber through a house won't be easy. I could be wrong. Just ask him as soon as he rolls up, because it may change how he (or she) approaches the job. They may want to charge extra because, again, it won't be easy. Honestly, I'd let them pull fiber to your garage, put the fiber to ethernet converter there. If you have a newly built home, your home builder likely has everything ready there (power, etc), and then ask him (or her) to pull cat5E/Cat6 to your office. Put your router there.

@@jbsmith2872 No problem, always happy to help. I neglected to mention in my last reply, I've never needed access to the fiber converter. So if your logic is, "I might need to reset the converter at some point," in my 30 months or so of Frontier fiber ISP service, I've never needed to physically access the fiber to ethernet converter (out in the garage). So I've been able to reset, restart or wire Cat5E to my router inside the house, while leaving the fiber converter untouched. Good luck and fiber is addicting. If you stream anything, it's crazy having an uplink the near-same speed as your downlink. With fiber you're going to learn you've hit the upper end of ISP needs. I laughed when I saw Frontier is now offering 7 GIG service because... no one can send you 7 Gigs of anything. The max consumption (peak usage) I've ever been able to create is Microsoft XBOX updates/downloads which they throttle down often to 200M but can come up to 420Mbps. No one has ever maxed out my 500MB service. Yes, I can run an "internet test" and see 500MB up and down, but unless your purpose is to just sit around and impress your friends with tests....it's not something you will find useful/usable in the "real world."

THey've been trying to get a nice mix of upper end neighborhoods, while also having affordable housing options at the other end. City Council meetings are interesting as they try to meet state guidelines with practical limitations. For example, if you make permits, fees, and environmental surveys add huge margins to a project, no builder will take on the low income housing project, as it would not make money.

Now it seems like new home prices are inching up about 1/2 that rate, when I look at new homes in supply around Menifee, over the last 12-18 months.
