Hi Joanne, a quick question. I've just been on B&Q website looking at reviews for the Valspar. Apparently, a woman had a painter and decorator apply this product & after 12 months, it started to crack & peel off. I've used the Valspar exterior paint & it's dreadful. I've even had a customer call me after using the masonry paint & after two years the paint is literally peeling off of the walls. I wondered if you've used the interior paint & seen what it looks like after a year has passed. Thank you.
@JoanneHayDecorating10 күн бұрын
@@Steve-so2jm I’ve never had any issues with Valspar premium or the tough matt failing or cracking etc. I’ve only used these two products, never any of their exterior products. But I’ve used the premium for a client who insisted on it and I freshened the whole house every two years. No problems with it at all, just to freshen up. It sounds like it’s reacted to something on the surface or the previous paint.

I would have trimmed my right side sheet on the table to exactly fit to the corner, maybe a very small amount going around the corner, and then used a laser level to plumb my left hand sheet which goes on the adjacent wall. Quicker, better. Cheers!

@@JoanneHayDecorating Yes, I see that you did, my apologies! A couple points that you might consider, if you drop a plumb line ( a laser level works great for this) and mark it with a pencil for the drop going around the corner onto the adjacent wall it will make it much easier to get your drop plumb the first time. Additionally, I have always thought of what you are calling a straight edge as a smoothing tool. I use 6 inch putty knife with an attachment to thicken the cut a bit. Works a charm. I respect to each their own though.
