How long does it take to download ? I have an iMac 1312 from 2011. It seems to be stuck at the Apple logo and the fan stays on. I replaced the hard drive for an SSD and video card. After some time the computer just turned off.

Thanks for the video. It's the USB connector that is playing up on my 8-year-old drive. It drops out from my PC unless you hold the cord at a particular angle. I will use it to store my Series X games, remembering to prop the cable at 'that' angle when I transfer a game, which is very occasionally.

This worked, but I first had to restart the computer and open it up in Recovery System Mode, then erased it. (My problem was that it wasn’t able to erase it because it was still using it to run the computer)

hello, after recovering from the Internet, under Disk utility i still don't see the hard drive.. the system was working fine but I tried to delete and reset to factory settings and now the hard drive option is not showing up even in Disk Utility, only OS X Base System. what do you advice pls?
