I actually LOVE my G pad. I just got the G pad F2 8.0, I don't know if it's one of the older or newer of the G pad line, I actually got it for free through my phone provider, but I do know that I love all of the things about it that you mentioned. I rarely use my phone anymore, and mostly use the data from my tablet to text most of the time. I ONLY use my phone to actually speak on the phone, but if I'm using facetime, it's back to the G pad. This was a great and informational video, thanks!

I owned a G Pad iii for just over a year and recently upgraded to the G Pad iv with the Plus Pack. Purchased the Plus Pack off Ebay for $39.50USD which, by the time it landed in Canada, was just under $80CDN all in. At $80CDN I feel the Plus Pack is well worth it. Extended battery life, ability to plug a standard USB into the unit while charging, and it provides a neat stand for the device, as mentioned.

Thank you for the excellent review. I just got my GPad 4 from Rogers on one of their promotions (bundle a G6 with a GPad 4 for $0 upfront) and considering the crappy quality Android tablets we have bought in the past, this one sure feels premium. I am saddened by the battery life you report and the exorbitant cost of the battery pack, but as I got this for my kid, he will have to make due.

Glad you liked it! I have seen the plus packs on ebay for wayyyyyy cheaper than MSRP, so you may want to take a look there if you find getting one would be useful

Ebay has several vendors selling them in the range of $40 USD; - will cost roughly $80 CDN by the time you get it but its still cheaper than any Canadian pricing I've seen! I'm happy with mine!

I have this tablet and speaker and i wish i could use just the speaker or just the battery charging pack. I find when my tablet is charged i just want to use the speaker and do not need a charge at that time. Awesome review. Thank you

Enjoyed your review, I have a question, if you know the answer can't find it anywhere. Is it possible to activate the speakers on the plus pack without having it charge the tablet at the same time? I don't want to shorten the life of the internal battery by charging it every time I want to use the plus pack speakers if possible. BTW, T-Mobile gave me a steal on this tablet. it costs $240 in the USA Plus Pack included!!! best of all, with my LG V30+ BOGO, the tablet will be free after 24months of credits. This required a service line for $10 a month which I already had. I know you guys pay a bit more for stuff in CA, my cousins tell me all the time.

Tuu Hoang I don't think so, you can only use the speaker when it's connected and I don't think there's any way to do it without charging. Sorry!

I have the gpad x2 plus from tmobile 8.0 I have got well over 5 hours with my version speaker is decent not great did not buy the battery plus pack for it even though its very cheap on Amazon I use it to watch tv shows and movies primarly nice that it has LTE connectivity but I only use wifi this device screen quality is nice at 1080p and I have had no stuttering on my end and the octa core processor works like a champ. It was def worth the upgrade from my tmobile Gpad X 8.0 .

If you had T Mobile provider the accessory comes with the tablet but you would have to wait a few months like the beginning of 2018 so you're wouldn't have to buy the devices separated came with the tablet so I guess that was a plus and I didn't have to pay no more than 250 sorry but I enjoy the device overall and the speakers are quite loud to be honest.

you talk about people who have no cell service, use tablet instead, 3-4hr battery makes this a tough device for this, highly droppable! huge in the hand. The three second freeze, stutter issue - is this what Chris Pirillo calls 'JANK' ? The software cannot keep up with the hardware?
