Hi Doug, Thanks alott for this amazing content. I would like to ask,. I'm looking forward to opening my own online store selling matcha but I'm quiet unsure on where to source it from and how I can get the best ceremonial grade for my business as I need it individually customized and packaged. would like to hear from you.

awesome video, thanks ! its been a year but i still don't see part 2 on your channel. has it been cancelled ?

Oh maybe the title wasn’t clear, but it’s been on my channel! It’s called “how to make the best matcha latte like a Japanese cafe”
@msferz917711 күн бұрын
Thank you for this. I am highly addicted to matcha and started with the Costco brand. But I definitely want to try the ones you mentioned when I get a chance.

Great video. It's funny that you showed Matcha Cafe Maiko in your video towards the end when you were talking about powedery or diluted matcha. Do you dislike Maiko? Their matcha powder is actually one of the best I've tried for lattes and a good deal compared to importing Marukyu Koyamaen or Ippodo.
@dougdoesdelicious13 күн бұрын
I think Cafe Maikos ice cream is quite good, but the lattes I’ve experienced at my local store are incredibly subpar, premixed in a jug and overly sweetened. I think the biggest bang for your buck is still Ippodo (cause of free shipping and also available on Amazon). even their more affordable matcha are already very very good for lattes like Wakaki and Ikuyo. For example, Wakaki goes for $13 for 40g, which would give you enough matcha for 13 lattes at about $1 per drink, and the resulting latte is much better than the $5 latte at Cafe Maiko
@rc0mplex12 күн бұрын
@@dougdoesdelicious Awesome, I’m enjoying an Ikuyo latte as I respond. I’ll have to try Wakaki. Which are your personal favorite matchas for lattes from Marukyu Koyamaen? Thanks!

Great job putting all this information together. It was accurate to what I know about matcha, and I learned some new things too! Also, they need to make an anime about "the next tea master"! 😁 The training he goes through, the different matchas he gets to try, the challenges he faces as he gets ready to take over the family business... I honestly think it would make a great story if it hasn't been done yet. 🍵

I tried my first one pot in the rice cooler last night and it was quite dry. I used 2 cups Basmati rice and 3 cups water, did the sauce with 2 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp oil, etc. and in the end, it didn't really cook for that long. It ended up burning on the ground of the pot all the time while the water was stuck on the top, it became mushy and then quite dry as I kept on stirring and cooking again to make sure the egg was cooked. What did I do wrong? 😅

No problem! There’s unfortunately so little actual information online about matcha and something that seems like it’s only tribal knowledge kept in Japan 😂 so I’m glad I was able to shed some light on the topic!
