Ty this helped me a lot. As my child is two years old and is verbal and we were going to start a first early intervention. They asked me about the pacing and steming and my child only does it a little. So I feel this video really helps me to understand autism more as a mom. I for now have only one child and thinking of having more and need to know more info about child autism.

It’s so hard my girls 5 today and for the first time she can blow the candle out. However, it’s been rough the meltdowns are intense and I am not sure why. I was thinking of you. I haven’t met met many others who understand how it seems your son is and Hailey is , it’s like everyone’s high functioning without the meltdowns, without the frustrations from communicative speech.. wondering honestly if Covid an not having then therapy available to them that we should have is why.. we don’t fit in even with ASD community. it’s so strange. I hope you are well and things are getting easier he’s beautiful a your an amazing mom. 💜

Aren’t bright colors like red yellow etc stimulating for them? I mean according to some researches yellow , reds, and vibrant colors aren’t for autistic children
@louderthanwordsInclusivity
@louderthanwordsInclusivity 3 ай бұрын
So that’s actually not true! Autistic children are very different, and my son is what is called an under responder! Over responders certainly would be over stimulated and need a decrease in bright contrasting colors and more cool neutral tones in their cal ing environment, however my son is constantly under stimulation and needs the extra stimulation to process information and learn! There are many stereotypes with autism, and unfortunately one of them is that over stimulation is the only presentation, however it gets even more complicated that just over and under stimulated! For example my son is over all and under responder, however he is an over responder orally and with temperature, though temperature and pain are not often discussed, they usually stick to the 7 main sensoria’s categories! He loves textures on his skin, however his mouth is very over responsive, and he cannot eat food because of this. He also enjoys very extreme and over powering smells including bad smells!

I really love the attitude you have about your son and his autism. I’ve never had the feeling I was mourning a future that my son could have had because I’ve known his future wasn’t mine to plan since before he was born. It was a relief when our suspicions were confirmed and we could finally understand how to help him thrive. My son’s speech didn’t pick back up until he was 3.5. At 7 he very much sounds like someone who’s speaking English as a second language, but he’s smart enough to improvise when he’s trying to make himself understood.

He is turning 6, he is still mostly non verbal but is beginning to get some echolalia and words for labeling, just not for communicative purposes, he also can use a yes no touch chart sometimes for communication, he also cannot follow simple one step directions quite yet, he still is globally delayed and does not interact with other children outside of his brother, and it is not in a playful or typical way But, he also has so much more awareness and interaction with his family, he has more of an interest in being with us, and he is experiencing more and more things. He is still disabled and always will be, but he is also coming along and growing and progressing and becoming a sweet young man lol. We also have found out since this video that he has 5 genetic variants, several of which are associated with autism, one causes CDLS, the NIPBL gene, which commonly causes autism as well as other symptoms he has (slow growth, IDD, chronic vomiting and severe feeding issues, raynauds, etc).

Beautiful angel. I have a 3 yr old non verbal.. I am fairly convinced all of the heavy metals in his initial vaccines have caused this. I am currently looking for a healthy and age-appropriate detox for him as well as speech and OT therapies. ROOT CAUSES in AUSTIN.. sounds great, but it’s far away from us and very expensive; cash only. So I’m looking for something closer. I appreciate the video very much… it is exhausting but it’s worth it.

Well whether it is autism or not, the fact that they are already getting support they need is great! If they do get diagnosed with it, then just remember that it is identifying a neurology that is already present, to help equip you and the medical and educational system with the knowledge to meet their needs! I know that there is more to it than that, but just take things one day at a time.❤️

Honestly, as a mum of a 2 year old that was really interesting to see. Thank you for sharing that with us. My son is not autistic (at least I don't think so), but it's still interesting to see how different children are. There is a little boy, the same age as mine, living in the same appartment building as we are. I think he might be autistic. Watching your son was like watching him. But I'm no doctor and definitley don't want to diagnose him. It's just an observation.
@louderthanwordsInclusivity
@louderthanwordsInclusivity 11 ай бұрын
I’m glad you found it interesting! That’s why I made that actually, because I had never seen another child like mine until I saw a child a the therapy clinic that was diagnosed, and that’s when it clicked that he really likely was autistic (we already were waiting for his eval, but I was still thinking that it was just a delay and unique traits)-I very much wanted to put this out there so that another parent like me at that weird place before knowing can also see another child like theirs, especially since modern parenting can be so competitive, and it can feel like you’re doing something wrong when one of your children just aren’t meeting the milestones, despite doing things the same. He is going on 6 now, and is still very similar, but he will mimic a word here and there or phrase like, “happy birthday” when he sees us bringing groceries in (bagged items) or handing items to each other or eating pastries, and he has much more interaction now, as far as pulling us where he needs and such things. There definitely are other things that can cause a presentation similar to autism, however Autism seems to be the most common cause of such a presentation regarding disabilities, at least most commonly diagnosed.

@@louderthanwordsInclusivity that is not what I meant. I don't mean how many he gotvor is getting for a possible treatment. I meant how many of the standard issued 💉before the diagnostic of autism. Example the vitamin k shot immediately after birth that hospitals tend to push and give as routine then when you go to the doctor he 1month or 2 later they push another then another than another etc. My son was born 2 years ago and he still can't talk, he did receive vitamin k shot only. I didn't know that the vitamin k shot is not a vitamin, it is actually a synthetic drug meant to coagulate the blood for excessive bleeds(original intent). This not a normal shot and there is very little info on ingredients and side effects of this.

@@louderthanwordsInclusivity what about the vitamin k shot, that synthetic shot is suppose to coagulate the blood after birth so that they don't have excessive bleeds. This shot actually goes to the brain passing through the brain barrier that regulates the bood circulation to the brain (it is not suppose to go past the brain barrier). Therefore synthetic matarial of the shot reaches the brain. Have you spoken with a specialist doctor about the possible side effects of this shot. Normal doctors won't say or admit that this or any other shot is a possible cause of anything.

Symptoms are clear well before they reach toddler age. When your child misses their first milestone, start writing down what you’re seeing & what isn’t being seen at the early milestone ages of even 6 months. By 2 years old a child should be diagnosed if the parent is paying attention. Even if the dr tells you that they will catch up, get a 2nd & 3rd period.
@louderthanwordsInclusivity
@louderthanwordsInclusivity 9 ай бұрын
that’s not the case actually for many-that’s the exact reason that the old DSM used to include infantile autism as a specific diagnosis with, PDD-NOS, and Asperger’s. because there was a subtype where symptoms presented in infancy, prior to the initial regression. also, most states actually don’t ALLOW evaluations that young, 18 months is the earliest, and many state wait until 2-3 unfortunately. So there is this “initial regression” that occurs among many autistic people, some evidence even points to most, and many will present with NO observable symptoms until this initial regression, often occurring at around 14-2.5 years old. Now my son and others like him who presented traits in infancy, obviously did have observable “features” and delays, however at 14 months old my son woke up different one day. the milestones that he had reached had disappeared, and it was like a different child, despite him already being in therapy since 7 months old and having recognized delays. Therefore, when this occurs with children who had no delays, met all the milestones typically, with no atypical behaviors, it often IS the first sign of autism for these children. this is a pattern that has occurred since it’s recognition in the 70s, they still aren’t sure why, it obviously doesn’t mean children aren’t autistic prior to the regression, but no, autistic people do not necessarily have traits that can be observed in infancy, though sometimes they do. This however doesn’t change the barrier to diagnosis before 2
