Neil, can I ask you a daft question about rivets?! You mentioned drilling through the rivets on the chainwheel guard, what size/type did you replace them with when you put it back together? Aluminium/stainless steel and were they just ones to fit the hole or a specific size? Great vids. Really enjoyed them, thank you.

Great video. Its true, the rich kids had the chrome bikes. I had a yellow and blue MK1 Tuff Burner. The best day of my life was getting that bike on my birthday as a surprise. Even the Raleigh dealer played along with the surprise. In the shop car park trying to bunny hop, I felt so rad to be part of the emerging scene. True, it was heavy but it took one hell of a beating and never ever let me down.

@chasetherainbow 4 ай бұрын
Hi Carl, welcome to the Burner party; it’s a slippery slope, I only wanted one and I’ve had about twenty now 😂😂😂 (although I’ve only got six at the moment - three that I ride and three projects. There are quite a few Facebook groups that are worth joining where parts are usually available - prices can vary quite a bit though so it’s wise to be patient - Raleigh Burner 80’s Icon, Raleigh Burner Enthusiasts, Raleigh Burner Life, Raleigh BMX, Chopper, Grifter Group, The Raleigh Burner Group, plus quite a few more. if you do a search for Raleigh Burner on Facebook Pages you find them. Also good resources are alansbmx.com/ (old school section), www.boydsbikes.com/, hopkinsoncycles.co.uk/, bankruptbikeparts.co.uk/. EBay is also a good place to look but prices can be very optimistic at times, again it is best to be patient, plenty of bits pop up at reasonable prices too. For any painting/re-coating you have two options: Mark Ralph based in Shirebrook, Derbyshire at www.mrcreations.co.uk/ And Jon Butler based in Leeds at www.midastouchgb.co.uk/ Jon Butler is the only one who currently does the re-coat for the Night Burner (that’s where mine was done). Hope this helps you out mate 👍

Hi, sorry for the slow reply; I’ve been out in the mountains with poor signal. The raft has been great, although I have only used it a few times in the last couple of years. Some friends of mine also have them and they are very happy too. Most of the commercially available rafts are all manufactured in the same factory so they should be reasonably comparable. I’ll be using mine again this summer (UK) so I will try and do an update video.
