how did you get from Chefchaoen back to Marrakech? was an entire day spent traveling for this portion?
@LeesaYu8 күн бұрын
We actually returned to Fes and flew out from there. I’d recommend that more than going back to Marrakech which is way too far from Chefchaoen. It’s about a 3.5 hr bus ride, so half day travel!

Hi, i know this comment is a little late, but I noticed a vegan book behind you, and I’m vegan and going to Morocco, if you are vegan, is it easy to find vegan food there? And on the Sahara desert tours could you find things to eat? Thank you!
@LeesaYu20 күн бұрын
I ate a vegetarian diet while I was there (not vegan), but there are a few very nice vegan places in Fes and Marrakech! Veggie Pause was a stand out in my memory. And of course vegetarian/vegan tagine can be easily found. However we did a tour for the Sahara desert and the vegetarian food was not very good, I’m sorry to say :(

It's funny how the hate goes even to expats who are mostly highly skilled and contribute a lot to the society. The dutch must be very frustrated with the current immigration and housing situation.

Was the weather still nice in October? and would you say that Nerja is a good base for 2 weeks in Spain? or do you have other recommendations? ❤😊
@LeesaYuАй бұрын
Yes it was wonderful in October (that’s when we visited in this vlog). If you have 2 weeks, I would suggest about 3 days in Nerja (including Frigiliana), and visiting Seville and Granada as well. They are both very easy to reach and it’s what we did after we left Nerja :)

Say what you will about Wilders, but there are many first and even second-generation migrant citizens in the Netherlands, some whom also come from Islamic backgrounds, that share the same sentiments as him about the migration problem. Full is full!!! You won't ever hear that side of the story from the mainstream media because they only want to push one narrative. Unless you speak and understand Dutch well enough, you won't really grasp what's happening in this country from a political and cultural standpoint.
@LeesaYu22 күн бұрын
Hmmm… it doesn’t seem that complicated to grasp. What’s happening here is happening across the world. The housing shortage here is a concern but hardly a unique problem, and also not an issue that can be simply blamed on migration. Expats are also different from migrants - we contribute a lot in a short period of time and are typically only here temporarily. Only time will tell what the Netherlands will look like under new leadership.

i think the „diplomatic-ness“ you mention about the makelaar is sort of a Dutch cultural thing (which i’ve noticed in other settings) but I think it’s interesting that it extends to the real estate sector

Omg, the "Ni How" thing KILLS me! I never quite know how to respond. I normally just say "Hello" back in English, even though "Ni How" is a greeting, it feels very presumptuous just because I look Asian and also assuming I'm Chinese and not Japanese, Korean etc.
@raedos1Ай бұрын
But (assuming you are indeed Chinese), is it really racist to say Ni How to a Chinese? Is it not the same as saying Hola to a latino? Only of course if it is said in a genuine friendly manner.
@LeesaYuКүн бұрын
Yes it is racist and othering and makes us feel like shit. Please don't say it to people of Asian origin. A few articles have been written already about this: - www.justshapesandsounds.com/blog/themostawkwardtimetosaynihao - www.huffpost.com/archive/au/entry/whats-wrong-with-saying-ni-hao_au_5ee6bdd0c5b6003954d4dd70 - www.vice.com/en/article/vdx74x/yes-im-asian-please-stop-saying-ni-hao-to-me

As years go by, the freelancing app are gradually beeing stripped off, last year it was uber and now youngones and temper. I do not have any other place to work apart from Recruit a student that they can only give us 16 hours per week .if anyone has any idea of how i can get a cash on hand job here in the Netherlands, i will gladly appreciate Thanks.

A small addition...Women who want a home birth are, according to videos from expats I've seen, supported. They can have a mid-wife at the house. After birth, the Kramzorg, a post-natal care nurse, comes for two weeks to help the new mother and baby. I think that is a unique feature of the Dutch health care system. I have not learned of such post-natal care elsewhere. If my Mom had received such professional care, she may not have had a post-partum slump (a/k/a the baby blues).

Wow! But they weren’t all upfront costs right? It’s a combination of some costs before you got the house and after you got the house and started doing maintenance etc?
@LeesaYu2 ай бұрын
@climbersisyphus I assume you’re referring the additional upfront costs that I mentioned in my 3rd video. If you go to 01:00 of that video and pause it, you will be able to see how that figure was calculated. Some of the costs are one-off fixed costs, some of the costs are recurring (indicated in the video too). Hope that clears it up for you!
