I know this is a really old video, but I've machined a fair bit of stainless. If I were a betting man, I'd say you were running the drill bit too fast. Stainless work hardens, and the heat between the drill bit and the part goes way up to the point that it softens the cutting edges of the drill. Next time you're drilling stainless reduce the RPMs and apply more pressure.

What is your overall opinion of the nnt10? I have a desert style vehicle with loud exhaust, loud bypass clickers, and a tin can of an interior. Im looking at budget intercom options. Ive tried other cheap vox headset intercoms. They are annoying with no squelch adjustment and constantly turning on and off. Would you recommend the navatlas or should a guy look elsewhere? Thanks!
@offroadwizard1928
@offroadwizard1928 8 ай бұрын
Ugh, tough one. I wish the support was better. They feel like they are a company that want's to be good but isn't putting the effort into the people or the info. That being said. The sound through the headset's is good. I don't think you'll have a problem hearing anyone and the stereo sound for music is nice. The squelch is a little finicky though. It's touchy. like the adjustment is too sensitive. A little in one direction and you have to talk really loud, then go a little the other direction and you can't turn it off. I don't have one of the Rugged Radio brands to compare but I'd say in this case you probably get what you pay for. If you can save for a more expensive intercom, do it. If not this is a good deal. I'm kind of committed now and will ride it out. It's not bad enough for me to remove and replace it. I don't hate it. I have it set so you have to talk kind of loud, you don't really notice your doing it because you just feel like you have to anyhow. Don't know if that helps.

If that's an original slit windshield and not reproduction..... you probably could find original ones in older wrecking yards back in the 1960s and 70s most jeepers went to the single one piece glass I believe out of cj3s.... just easier to seal and keep cold &dust/sand out....😂😂😂😂
@offroadwizard1928

Yeah, funny you say that because my last jeep build I was convinced to put the CJ3A windshield in it to get the height. Kept having to duck down to see the stop lights at intersections with the original split window. It was more functional but I lost the "Cool Factor". Also lost that ability to keep the top on and push that window out on the trail while it was raining or snowing. That's quite a feeling. Those windshield wipers suck. That's something I wish someone would improve on. Those individual wiper motor/wipers are the worst.

I found it easier to run the top of the frame into place and then install the rest of the window frame. It seemed that the two rails were not lined up perfectly so a small flex of the top of the window frame made it possible. I'm working on a GPW.

Put one of these on today and it was the pits! Yes, first they tucked the winch end inside, then the instructions were WRONG, the heat shrink was glued on and the center rope was glue in making it impossible to pull the end out! If I'd seen your video before I would NOT have bought the Badland rope. This is known as a "Locking Brummel Loop" but on this rope the thing is glued then wrapped with a red binding making it impossible to pull the end of the rope out. The obvious question is, WHY did Harbor Freight wrap the attachment end the way they did which makes a lot of extra work and frustration?

I know this post is a year old. I have a question about the direction the synthetic rope raps on the spool. I took the cable off and have the winch mounted oriented like you do. The direction say to have the rope wind from the bottom but that would be taking the rope out. Is it OK to have it rap over the top side of the spool? Thanks for the video.
@offroadwizard1928
@offroadwizard1928 Жыл бұрын
All good. Yes, if that’s the way it needs to go. I have the handle that engages the winch on the left side as you’re looking at it from the back. If you swap it so the lever is on the right you can run the cable off the top. You can’t change the direction the rotor spins as it pulls. That’s set. Just work around it by flipping the winch over.

@@davidbroome6437 Sorry, I just saw this. Yes you could use a inline pump. The ratio I see used is 10 HP per 1 GPH (gallon per hour) for Fuel injection. So you need at least 23 GHP fuel pump. You don't want the pump to run really hard so I'd look for a minimum of 40 GPH pump. The 3800 has a return line and is regulated at the fuel rail so you can't really get too big a pump. The excess just gets returned to the tank.

Then you can see if it’s even getting a signal from the VSS. I would say if all else fails a separate transmission controller like the Compushift would fix it if anything is wrong with the main computer. It won’t fix it if it’s the internals. Otherwise, it’s tricky. A tranny shop would be the best place to go to see if something weird is going on. Sorry, I don’t know of any shops in Florida.

Where does wireing go.i have 92 chevy 4l80e in limp mode.no speedometer function.just thinking is there a way to bypass computer and get wire to 3rd and overdrive to shift
@offroadwizard1928
@offroadwizard1928 2 жыл бұрын
The wiring goes to the computer for the engine controller, or if you have a transmission controller then there. The computer needs it to see how fast your going to determine shift points. If you can find your wiring diagram for your rig you should be able to find what pin it goes to. There is a VSS high and VSS low wire. Those are the 2 wires that come off the sensor. It doesn’t matter which one is high or low. It uses the differences between the two to get the reading. If all else fails you can get a separate transmission controller. They are stand alone units and a couple reading from some of your engine, TPS and Tach signal, to determine shift points. I’ll have a video soon on that also. I ended up getting one. What’s your set up?
