hello! What type of speed sensor did you use? The stock VSS of the 4L60e transmission does not have threads for assembly.

You might have to change the plug but that’s just two wires. And it doesn’t matter which wire goes where. It’s just a signal. Not a ground or something like that. Hope that helps. Jason

Lol, yeah still new to this KZbin thing. Need to figure out how to get notifications. Sorry to hear that. Can you get into the computer to see what’s going on? Then you can see if it’s even getting a signal from the VSS. I would say if all else fails a separate transmission controller like the Compushift would fix it if anything is wrong with the main computer. It won’t fix it if it’s the internals. Otherwise, it’s tricky. A tranny shop would be the best place to go to see if something weird is going on. Sorry, I don’t know of any shops in Florida.

92 4L80E has a rear speed sensor 🤷. Check for power on pin "E"

Where does wireing go.i have 92 chevy 4l80e in limp mode.no speedometer function.just thinking is there a way to bypass computer and get wire to 3rd and overdrive to shift

The wiring goes to the computer for the engine controller, or if you have a transmission controller then there. The computer needs it to see how fast your going to determine shift points. If you can find your wiring diagram for your rig you should be able to find what pin it goes to. There is a VSS high and VSS low wire. Those are the 2 wires that come off the sensor. It doesn’t matter which one is high or low. It uses the differences between the two to get the reading. If all else fails you can get a separate transmission controller. They are stand alone units and a couple reading from some of your engine, TPS and Tach signal, to determine shift points. I’ll have a video soon on that also. I ended up getting one. What’s your set up?

Yes, it will work for anything you put after the 4L60E. It goes on the output shaft of the transmission before it goes into the transfer case.
