Utter bullshit propaganda. They claim that the rear passengers have very little room for their feet. Problem is that you can clearly see that they put sumething under the floormats to raise them up.

Sen vilken som är ”bäst” på halt väglag kan man ju diskutera, framhjulsdrift har klara fördelar (i min åsikt), men hur som så lär 740:in med bakhjulsdriften vara roligare. Finner det något fascinerande att höra att framhjulsdrift sågs som mer sportigt, detta är inte första gången jag hör det (det var av liknande åsikt i Trafikmagasinet..), visst man jämför i det här fallet en stel bakaxel med en bakvagn som inte är från sten åldern. Men jag har nog aldrig sett en framhjulsdriven Ferrari, *Austin Martin (om man inte räknar den där Toyota:n med Austin Martin emblem), Lamborghini, BMW M eller *Porsche (om man inte räknar den där första eldrivna). Sen finns ju, Saab Turbo och senare Aero modellerna, Volvo 850R/S70R/V70R och T5 modellerna, Honda Civic/Integra Typ R, Ford Focus RS, Volkswagen Golf GTI och så vidare.. Men i min åsikt är en BMW E46 M3 CSL mer ”sportig” än en Honda Civic Typ R och en Porsche 911 GT3 mer ”sportig” än en Golf GTI, men det är förstås min högs personliga åsikt.

i got the 95 2.0t estate with a slight tune and the 2.3 aero turbo fitted. 555K km on the clock and still going strong. Crazy for a car build in 1999.

740 GLT 16v is a very rare car while there were loads of SAAB 2,3 16v. Genuinely good cars both, but the worlds Best Car Ever Manufactured is a lättryckat 945 (low pressure turbo).

And today SAAB does not even exist and Mercedes makes infotaiment on wheels. 👎

mercedes w201 was not good in any item, many cons but still today people love to drive them. many other cars were better, but most off them are not on the road any more, 190 its still there.

The Saabs sold in the USA during the 90s were quite possibly some of the worst vehicles ever manufactured. My '94 Toyota Corolla outlasted my ex's Saab 9000 by 12 years and 120,000 miles. That Saab was absolutely awful

Saab 900 are excellent cars, always aspired to get one. Clutches are super easy to change.

Saab failed. Mercedes still run. Actually if a swedish car I‘d choose the Saab 99 or the Volvo PV444/544. But the MB190E was the best car I had (including my very good Saab9-3).

Swedens greatest era. They were making world class cars which is still loved today. Now look at them.. Saab is gone and volvo is produced on licens from China. Noone will be driving and loving todays volvos in 20 years, but there will probably still be old 740s and 940s on the road even then

Such a super blast from the past Marcus and Manuela! Tack så mycket. I love this retro stuff. It makes me feel 30 years younger. 😂 The objectivity of this was aimed at educating the Saab salesforce. Knowing your competition's strong and weak points was key to being as educated as your customers. Saab customers were indeed an educated group as the video suggests. I have owned a 1983 C900 Turbo and still own a 2007 9-3 2.0t. The difference between the "native" Saab and the post GM Saab is quite distinct, but still far superior to the Opels and Fiats I have driven when in Europe. I came from a staunch Mercedes family. There is still a 1959 219 in our family barn which I have driven extensively when I was young. (Same body style as the older Benz in the video) We also had a 1974 280 sedan. The build qualitty was very high, but the supportive seats and "drive feeling" of the Saabs wins me over every time. Sadly, the build quality of Mercedes has sunk to levels I never imagined. My brother's 2010 GL250 is riddled with build quality issues. Fun fact, while developing the 190 series "Baby Benz", the engineers at Mercedes were told the only way that car would be approved for production would be if it would be indistinguishable to the dtiver from an S Class. I'm not sure they accomplished that, but the later versions with the larger engines and racing suspensions were far closer to that objective than the model demonstrated in this video. Congrats to all who made it to the end of this VERY LONG COMMENT! I hope I didn't bore you too much. 😂❤ Viva Saab!!

Calling the 9-5 interior the best in this class really is a long shot.. The E39 interior is pretty much objectively better

That takes me back to some great times. I first met Charles Tippet in 1986. He was racing in the Renault 5 Elf Turbo Uk Cup. He was supported by my then employer Renault Dealer P Baldock & Son of Bracknell Berkshire. I would help out wherever and whenever I could. Charles continued to race the Renault in 1987, Whilst also racing in the Saab Mobil 1 series. I was helping another driver in the 1987 Renault 5 series. The two series were often at the same venue over the season, so I would catch the Saabs as often as possible and catch up with Charles and his family. He missed out on the championship in 1987, but won it the following year. Some years later he owned Causeway Saab in Wiltshire.

As a lover of both brands, I feel this was a fair comparison. The 190E still had its own appeal if it was the car you wanted, but the Saabs did shine pretty brightly, especially in terms of bang for the buck. Saab owners back then were indeed highly educated.

Where are Saab now? .... And where are Mercedes now?
