I get my best aroma notes when I’m bringing the glass up, too. Or just an inch or so above the glass works for me. If I nose it too close or in the glass, I just burn up my nose.

That smokey note made me think of Peg Leg Porker. I’ve tried their 4 year and have their 8 and 12 year. Much lower proof though. The 8 year is 90 proof and the 12 is 93 proof. I think you would like either.😊
