When I highlight the houses to move, it does not bring over (attach) the score lines. I've tried grouping, but it will not pick up the score lines behind the design (i'm using Silhouette). How can this be done?
@diycraftswithheartfilledsp3315
@diycraftswithheartfilledsp3315 10 ай бұрын
Thank you for reaching out. In Silhouette Studio, you don't attach the score lines like you would in Cricut. Just click and drag over all the contents in an area to select it. Just to confirm, are you using the SVG version of the file? This will be applicable in the Designer and Business Edition of the software. Are you watching the Silhouette tutorial video for this project? If you need further help, please reach out to me at [email protected]. This is the fastest way to reach me. Hopefully this helps.

I set the actual size of the sticker to kisscut and then diecut an offset frame which makes it a lot easier to peel it off the backing! @diycraftswithheartfilledsp3315

I don't think the lighting would be the problem. You may need to clean the machine and sensor. If that doesn't work, try using the arrows to line the sensor up right at the top left registration mark and then start your cut. Hopefully this will help.

Hi Donna. Thank you for reaching out. This bundle has six different egg designs: a Cricut Video Tutorial, Silhouette Video Tutorial, an assembly video tutorial, and a written blog post. I design all of my files personally and put them through testing on multiple machines. Given the volume of sales I make, it is unlikely that I will ever discount them. It is my desire to provide an excellent customer experience, valuing your time and reducing the learning curve with digital crafting.

@diycraftswithheartfilledsp3315
@diycraftswithheartfilledsp3315 Жыл бұрын
Hi Addie. I'm sorry you're having trouble. I think I know the problem. When you download the file to your computer, there are five versions of the file. SVG, DXF, EPS, PNG, and PDF. The SVG file is a vector file that is often used for web purposes as well. Sometimes on PC computers, the SVG file icon will show up as a web browser icon. The file is not changed, just the way you see it in your file manager looks different. That one is the SVG file. One of the great things about the Business Edition of Silhouette Studio is that you can open the EPS and DXF versions of the file, as well. Although I still recommend using the SVG file. If you need any help, email me at [email protected]. I'm happy to help!

How small do you think these could be made? I would like to make ornaments or putz style houses
@diycraftswithheartfilledsp3315
@diycraftswithheartfilledsp3315 Жыл бұрын
Hi Angela. This is such a good question. I tested the first house on my Cricut today. I created a 3 inch by 3 inch square, selected all of the layers and sized them down so one of the house sides fit in the square. It cut beautiful. Once assembled the house measured 3 inches tall by 1 3/4 wide. With the church steeple added it was about 4 1/2 inches tall. The only thing you may want to consider is the tabs are smaller now and you will need good finger dexterity to build the houses this small. I hope this helps and let me know if you have any additional questions.

I signed up for the library access and also I am excited to purchase the 12 advent Christmas houses! My question on this program is what is the yellow shapes? I'm new to paper crafting and wondering is this a material that luminate the tea light inside? I'm going over the blogs, supplies, and direction. I'm pretty sure I'm over looking at it. Thank you for the beautiful tutorial!
@diycraftswithheartfilledsp3315
@diycraftswithheartfilledsp3315 Жыл бұрын
Hi Shoryo. For the four free houses, the yellow shapes are a vellum material. The vellum I used in that project allows the light to go through, but it's not fully transparent. It softens the appearance of the light. The smaller Advent Houses (24 houses) don't have vellum.

Thanks for reaching out. My favorite machine is the Cricut Maker. It will cut a variety of materials and is a quality-built machine. There is a new Cricut Maker 3 that is now available. The Maker 3 cuts faster, but in order to use the feature you need to purchase Cricut's Smart Materials. If you are only interested in cutting paper, card stock, and vinyl (thinner materials), the Cricut Explore is a good value and also a quality machine. I own a Cricut Maker and really like this machine. It is a quality built machine, it's user friendly and cuts a variety of materials. I hope this helps!

Hi Victoria. Best wishes on the project. If I were going to cut these by hand, I would cut the entire center out of the panels and leave it blank...no leaves/vine. Then I would put patterned paper in the window opening. The LED light won't show through the pattern, but it will still show through the slits between the pumpkin panels. This will be a lot less work for you.

This is so great! Thank you for this tutorial! I'm going to make it as soon as I get a stylus for my Explore Air 2 machine. I have a question, though... does the glue stick dry tacky? I'm guessing not. But I bet you could also use a Xyron machine to add adhesive to the panels to stick to the vellum. Also, I discovered little tiny clips that are made for sewing (to use instead of pins, I think). But they are perfect for crafting. You could use these for this project... to hold things together until they dry. Just thought I'd mention them, since they were new to me... and very helpful with lots of paper projects.
@diycraftswithheartfilledsp3315
@diycraftswithheartfilledsp3315 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Julie. Thank you for your thoughtful and helpful comment. I'm so glad you like the paper pumpkins. They are one of my favorite projects to make in the fall. I've tried several different adhesives for the vellum panels. The best option was paper cement. Most people didn't like the way it smelled and didn't want to purchase an extra supply. The Xyron machine, while I enjoy it for other uses, doesn't work great for this craft. It leaves spider web-looking adhesive strings on the vine panels. That's why I landed on the glue stick. It dries a bit shiny, but not sticky. Honestly, I'm pretty detailed and I was happy with the glue stick outcome. I will look into the clips...thank you for the suggestion. The quick-drying tacky glue that is on the supply list, works great to hold the structure of the pumpkin together. If you apply just a little pressure with your fingers for a moment, it sets up pretty fast so you can move on to other sections. Let me know how it goes and if you have any questions.
@juliekennedy7464

@@diycraftswithheartfilledsp3315 Thank you! I haven't used glue sticks for years! LOL So I wasn't sure if they dried tacky or not. I did find some in my daughter's school supplies, so I will use those. You're right... the Xyron does leave those spider web things. Plus, it creates a lot more waste. So I'll try the glue stick! The little clips are just called "Sewing clips" on Amazon. I use them for a lot of paper projects. The only drawback is they sometimes leave little indentations in the paper. Anyway, I'll report back. My stylus is supposed to arrive today! I just got my Cricut a few weeks ago, but I'd bookmarked this project long before I bought it, so I'm excited to give it a try!
