The 1968 is the better style. And the 912 engine is so cheap and easy to work on.

Thanks. I just installed a hitch with electrical on my 2014 volt. My threads were rusty on the passenger side so I had to re tap them..

Nice work, I appreciate the demo and the written descriptions on each step vs explanation with talking, this flows very well for comprehension. Also, as I am a EV technician myself I have to point out that the High Voltage disconnect should always be removed/unplugged prior to unplugging ANY orange connectors; this is for technician safety, and would make a great disclaimer. (On this car, the HV disconnect is located under the removable tray under the center console/armrest). 👌🙌 Thanks for helping everyone to be more resourceful and saving all that doe! 💰

Nice, I wouldn't have ever thought to pull the wheels to do spark plugs, I can't lie. Kudos for showing all 6 as well, they're not all equally accessible on this engine! Thanks for posting this

Torqu wrench & manufacturer’s Torque specifications weren’t included or did you even consider there are torque specs for strut bolts.

I'd have loved to see how you put that new filter with new oil in back onto the engine @1:59s. Mine is horizontally mounted too and there's no way to put that on without a lot of that new oil simply falling out.

Not sure if I'll get a timely response on this or but, but I have the exact truck in a different color and the bottom line will NOT stay connected to the radiator. I push it in as far as it will go and put in the clip, and then just a little bit of force pulls the line back out. The only time I thought it held I started the truck and after a few seconds it came undone and started pissing out oil.

I see a lot of comments that are extraneous to the subject of the video, that wouldn't be made if the average Joe were doing the same job. So I just wanted to say that you're a good mechanic and illustrate the video well. Thank you. The only part that may have been helpful to show more clearly is how to remove the clips from the quick-connects, but it is still good work and very helpful.

Your closeup of removal of the HPFP electrical connection was super helpful! None of the boyz videos did that, just saying. Keep it up.

Thank you for this! There are lots of videos about this, but yours is the one that describes taking the wheel well liner off. That step may or may not be necessary for this job, but for what I have to do, it seems to absolutely be necessary: I broke the little nubbin on the latch that secures the door, so need to replace the actuator cable that runs from the solenoid to the latching mechanism (what you remove and dangle as you replace the charge port). You also show how to use the two jack points to jack up the car and then put it on a stand, which will be helpful when I want to rotate my own tires, one side at a time! Thanks a bunch for this!
@averageguy12614 ай бұрын
I have to do the same thing. Do we absolutely need to remove the tire?
@Tamarinera233 ай бұрын
@@averageguy1261 Yeah, you'll have to, or it's very much in your way. There's another video about the best way to jack up the car, since it's so low to the ground a lot of jacks won't fit underneath: you drive half way up some ramps, then jack up in one place, and put jack stands in another place. It's annoying, but doable. Good luck!
@Tamarinera233 ай бұрын
@@averageguy1261 It might be argued that to just remove the port, you don't. But the cable hooks into a mechanism just aft of the wheel, and that would be hard to get at by sticking your wrist through the charge port hole and down a foot.
