Exactly. They will charge us for being late, but then they do not want to pay us for taking 5, 6, 7 hours to load or unload.

@@OTRBandit I dealt with one a couple days ago, short haul a couple hundred miles should have turned it around in about 5-6hours with loading and unloading. I had a 7am appointment to unload that next morning, got there at 6:30am. I checked in and they said they would call me when they had a door ready. Around 9am I marched into the office and ask what H3LL was going on! They told me they had no room on the floor in the warehouse! WTF?? I said they need to figure it out fast or I was going back home with their pallets and to call me when they made room and I would charge accordingly! I had a door in 10 minutes. I swear sometimes they think we are just NPC 's, that we arent people too? That our equipment can be used for their storage at their convenience. They can get away with mindlessly wasting our time, income potential and productivity. They dont seem to understand how much work and money we can lose sitting around waiting on their incompetance and lack of consideration for the drivers. All the money we have tied up in this equipment to keep America moving we should be able to easily amend ratecons and charge back for wasting our precious time and income. If we could treat them the way we get treated things would change quick!

I’ve had good experience two times at Americold in Atlanta, Georgia. And I’ve also had a good experience at Americold in Crest Hill, IL Those were the only two places that were good. Every other Americold was crappy.

That’s the only way to do it and be safe out here. As soon as it starts raining, I slow down. If it starts snowing and it’s really really bad. I will pull over and just hang out until it passes. I am not ready to die for anybody’s load out here.
