Sometimes the raw materials get delayed and other times ingredients are rejected for quality concerns, once a plant had high bacterial numbers and the FDA inspector closed the production line down until the company pulled all the production piping and machines and sanitized every piece of equipment, it worked but it cost the company a full day of production, the error in your case is unknown, but they should have explained the situation with more than a number.

I worked on a dock for the last 12 years, we had the exact opposite problem, we have guys show up 12 hours ahead of time. We had a truck log, few followed it, so when guys would show up far in advance we made them wait.
