That glissando you do in the beginning of second recitative prats on both movements, sounds so vulgar. I wish you didn’t do glissando, because all other parts you play as perfectly as should be without any glissando.

Danke für diese schöne Reihe, Dominik. Tolle Menschen. Wenn du mal wieder in Nürnberg bist, sei herzlich eingeladen ans Staatstheater zum "Kontrabass" von Patrick Süskind. Cheers

When I travelled through the No.9 Highway in the Taitung County area, Taiwan ; that day was the 7th. of April, 2024. The weather was cloudy and filled with blue and depress, the sunlight seemed presented and gone to somewhere; the tidal waves of the Pacific Ocean seems shout to somenting or someone; I gazed at the sea shore and sky, at that moment, I still cannot understand and wonder why: the rhythms from the 2nd. movement of this double bass sonata were arised from my brain. There were so many cars and motocyclies, sooters passed throuth me, the people(s) knows where to, the only thing that I did is nothing but stare blankly. I parked my scooter alone the Highway, and "listen" to the Sonata in E Minor for Double Bass and Piano which composed by Montag in my mind. Lonely so much? Maybe. Thanks for the great, nice plays by Dominik Wagner and Can Cakmur, your performance is nothing but wonderful and vivid like an angel fall into its thinking. Bravo!! Applaused from Taiwan.

BRO WHY DOES THIS SOUND BETTER THAN PLAYING WITH CELLO
@JRTPianistАй бұрын
oh wow never heard an arrangement with double bass. I do think its a bit too contrasting. maybe transcribed in e minor might be a bit better but regardless really great performance.

it sounds lovely in terms of musicality but the piece really doesn’t translate to bass

So young, and yet such exceptional playing from both of you. There isn't a single second I would have wanted to be played differently, and the recording quality is beyond amazing. What a beautiful and expressive piece of music as well. The intonation is perfect on every note. Words can't ever subsume the greatness of this performance.

@bassowagner Hi Dominik, congratulations for all the excellent work you do. How can composers contact you to present pieces or arrangements for bass to you? Is that something you would be open to?

I had no idea about the whole history of Prunner, thank you so much Dorin and Dominik for this. I am extremely attached to the Prunner family as my first piano teacher was this granddaughter. And my teenager son just had a masterclass with Dorin in Romania. It was of course amazing! A great interview with an extraordinary musician ❤
