This masterpiece reminds me of that one joke: “I paid for the whole bass, I’m going to use the whole bass.”

Most double bass pieces focus more on rhythm and the lower octaves, but you have managed to make the bass into a sonorous instrument capable of the upper ranges and dynamics of the cello but with the resonance only found in a double bass. I play the cello, but now am intrigued by the possibility of playing the bass.
