I love the bass when it's played with resonance so the audience can get the full flavor of each note.

Dominik, how might Alexander Technique affect your playing and living? I was fortunate, age seventeen, to come across this and found more spaciousness.

Thanks for that! Just a few thoughts. Bertram Turetzky is a fantastic bass player he's 91 at the time of writing but is well worth checking out, his book The Contemporary Contrabass is also a great book to direct composers to, not just bass players. We didn't have good steal strings until about 1950 - 1960, I think this is one of the issues that held the bass up as a solo instrument. Also if people want to visit a bit of history this is well worth a look .... the first international double bass competition back in the 1970's .... with a young Jeff Bradetich! kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIXdqmtrn5KqjZYsi=moTtdX5bt_t2doba&t=2251
