@@rollsizer5623 I am looking forward to using it. The camber on my 6.5 CM must be very liberal at the base. I have played with a number of full length sizing dies and both a Forester and Area 419 press. And of course a variety of approaches to the shell holder. Bottom line for me is trying to size the base in this manner is not going to work. It isn’t consistent and varies based on how many times the brass has been fired. I was going to find a base sizing die for my press but I had my doubts on that as well. This approach just makes sense based on what I have experienced.

Well it is time for a fact check on the rollsizer. I cannot comment on the universal. I weighed all my options of which model. Sent an email to Keith the owner and he responded immediately. I settled on the dc drive model. And let me say, this unit is amazing. I have a hornady case feeder hooked to it. Today, I ran 5800 9mm cases. Not one hiccup. forget that handle stuff, get a motor. You are going to use it more than you think. This will last a lifetime..Buy once,cry once.

The universal was designed for those in precision / LR shooting with low volumes. these guys run custom dies, calibres etc and look for non standard results (usually 0.004" under their chamber) and the Universal is the only machine on the market that can offer the adjustable precision. its not recommended for the volume USPSA / IPSC groups....hell, I do 8,000 in 1 go with my own commercial.....

Hi, two questions: After brass are processed by Rollsizer, still need a resizing DIE? On the other side, when reloading 9mm few cartidges don't fit in the cartidge comprobator. The solution I use is use the LEE Factory Crimp DIE in those cartidges. After using this DIE, the rounds fits perfectly in the cartidge comprobator and in my gun chamber. Seems that Rollsizer do to the same that LEE Factory crimp DIE, but before start reloading process... so why is rollsizer a better solution? Note that I'm writting from Spain, where reloading is not as normal as in EEUU and where we don't have access to a lot of reload stuff as well as we are very limited in the number of primers/powder we can buy. I'm reloading 1200-1500 rounds per month. Kind regards.

This might be the ideal device to resize the body of an existing cartridge to form a wildcat, which otherwise has no real parent casing. Like forming .458 SOCOM from any WSM case. This might not be an option as long as Starline produces .458 SOCOM, but once production ceased this could be the solution.

@rollsizer5623
@rollsizer5623 3 жыл бұрын
Actually no. Coat a clean, fired case in a permanent marker and full length size. There is a gap at the base which cannot be reached. The rollsizers get this area back to factory. They also get the base concentric to the rim AND square up the lower section to the base. They really do work.

Hi, I’ve got a question regarding my 223 conversion kit. 1st after rollsizing a 223 case it comes out with a bell(above the rim). After full length sizing die the bell is still there, is that normal/on purpose? 2nd the 223 conversion plate doesn’t fit on the base shaft correctly, the hole seems to be to tight. Once installed it is almost impossible to remove it again. Is it supposed to be like that? The 9mm plate fits easily. Regards from Germany
@rollsizer5623
@rollsizer5623 3 жыл бұрын
Yes. The small depression is normal. The process does 3 discrete things. 1. Case becomes concentric (hence the dimples/ depression just above the extractor groove) 2. The case is now circular and sized back to factory standard. 3. The case becomes square to the base. Not as much of a problem with rifle but the problem does occur. As far as the plate goes. If you use a small jewelers file down either side of the shaft keyway it is probably a small burr. Rotating the disc clockwise and anticlockwise will help in the removal. Possibly the disc has a small burr on the inside of the disc. Probably around the place where the key slot was cut.

Actually it does make a difference if the cases feed upside down. When it is upside down you are NOT base sizing the case, ,which is the whole point of rolling the case. Any bulge will still be on the brass, which could cause the final finished round to not be able to seat properly in the chamber. Which could cause a blow out of the base of the case directing the gasses straight down the magazine well. So pay attention during rolling and grab any upside down cases as they are coming off the machine.
