Is this suit good for either open water swimming or pool swimming??
@mrmr314
@mrmr314 3 ай бұрын
The fusion's insides don't get fully wet on mine, so your body warmth doesn't warm up the wet inside all over. The suit is still newish so this may diminish over time, or you can just let water in yourself through the neck and up the sleeves and legs. The first surf it wasn't actually that warm because of this, but it improved with following surfs as the rubber loosened.

Yeh i dont care if it makes me surf like medina. Theres no way im paying $800 AU for a wetsuit glued together in asia for a fraction of that. What a rort.

So how come 2024 model was being discussed in 2019?
@shore
@shore 5 ай бұрын
Hey buddy. The suit hasn't been updated since then, basically. No change at all in the model, materials or fit. Just some new colours.
@Skip11AM
@Skip11AM 5 ай бұрын
@@shore That's fine and therefore it's misleading to call 2019 model a 2024 model. It's 2019 model still offered in 2024. Anyway, thank you for clarification.

The navy does go very, very dark when wet. It would be hard to tell it was navy when in the water if that's any help.

Cheers Henry, great info. It’s amazing how far wetsuits have come, I remember my wetsuits from 35 years ago were clunky and uncomfortable and seals were rubbish. Will deffo be trying one of these when my others wear out. 👍🏄‍♂️

adding half a MM without comprimising flexibility it a sentence that is self contradicting 🤣 also, it seems like many of the inner seems are not taped which is wierd as I recall everything being taped in the hyperfreak comp - but maybe I am wrong. the comp-x for sure is taped on the inside. so seems to me oneill cut many corners to get to a price point they wanted... shore, if you are only reading from the marketing material than ok but a real review is better...
@shore
@shore 9 ай бұрын
Hey @IIIxwaveIII On the whole extra 0.5mm of neoprene, the argument is that given the Technobutter Neoprene is now so stretchy if you were to compare a 4.5mm Technobutter to a 4mm Ultraflex or similar the flexibility would be the same. It's also super tough to measure a 0.5mm increment in neoprene given all the layers etc but I suppose it's just to reassure customers that the suits are warm. You are right Hyperfreak comp was all internally taped but it wasn't Fluid Seam Welded on the outside as the Hyperfreak Fire is and I would say from experience that Fluid Seam Weld is better than internal taping only and lasts longer as long as you dont leave it to cook in the sun. By introducing the Hyperfreak Fire they removed the Pyscho 1 from the range and it has more features than that suit did but is more expensive than that suit was so maybe that's a better way to look at it. The top of the range is still the Psychotech which again is more expensive but you gain the air bubble neoprene and single-lined neoprene. Obviously, we are a shop and do sell these suits but with the videos, we try and make all the marketing waffle easier for customers to digest. I think its helpful as even takes us ages to try and figure out what the brands are up to and we are the supposed experts. If it gives you peace of mind the Hyperfreak Fire was our best-selling Winter Suit in 2022/23. Cheers

I previously was right a 6'2" T&C Sharpe but just snapped and and am looking at the 5'11" Torq mod fish but I can do some sharp back turns and improving on my front turns. I just keep getting thrown off by the "beginner to intermediate" label as I feel I'm on the upper end of intermediate and worried this board won't be good enough for my needs. A second opinion would be appreciated

Hi My chest is 110cm, waist is 82cm. I bought size M which feels too tight on my chest as size M chest is 99-104, but waist fits perfect. If I to change it for Large, chest should be fine, but waist will be too big as L waist is 84-89. What do you recommend, change for loose waist, or hope for chest/shoulders to stretch? Note, I only tried it in a room, I heard it loosens up in water too

Always love your reviews, thank you. Hypefreaks are the best too! Sadly..from my personal experience, a big fail here. I've worn this suit over a dozen times and it still kills my back and makes me sore. I have the Blueprint with TB3, and that is more flexy and comfortable, but the smooth skin they created on that tears and wears quick. This suit is def more durable but at a cost. Also I reckon since the new TB4 has Graphene, it's another reason it's a good bit stiffer than TB3. Bottom line if you don't mind a bit stiffer suit it's awesome, but if you are used to the Hypefreaks with TB3, this will not feel like that at all. Thanks again and keep up the great work.

The Racer is more performance-focused so will work better in bigger waves. The Rancho is designed more for someone who wants a little more foam and its probably more suited in that chest high and below range. Hope this helps

Hello Shore, thank you so much for this video, I really enjoyed and it was so informative! It would be great to know it the board is more designed to work in clean or more bumpy conditions? Cheers Philipp
@shore
@shore Жыл бұрын
Hey Philipp, Board is designed for the beginner and intermediate surfer and is very very forgiving so will work in all conditions. Obviously clean waves are the best, therefore, all surfboards work "better" in those sorts of waves but as these Indio boards are built strong they also have a bit of weight which can be useful to push through bumpy flat sections of waves. i.e. they are not super lightweight so they can have a bit of momentum behind them.

Never buy an O'Neill. I bought a 4/3 hyperfreak, and two seams came out. Each time, I had to send in the suit at my expense. Each time it took six weeks for the warranty repair. The first seam came undone after 20 days, and the second seam came undone after 10 more days. O'Neill is a lousy stinking piece of junk company!

Hi Bon we wish we could get some clips of the board being used but we don't get that consistent surf and a good surfer can make surfing a door look good. I think in the soft top space clips of the board being ridden really don't show a huge amount just that someone rips haha.

@@shore It's very clear to me the riding / style distinctions different shapes have,…. which is shown by surfing them. One can inference from appearances of a shape, but, it's more clear in the water. Come on, if you're really aware and keen, you can see the differences of riding a door, riding different surboard models, riding a skimboard,…. ya know...
