I bought one Hyperfreak fire for me and one for my son, both of them very uncomfortable on the crutch area and very stiff nothing compared with the regular Hyperfreak, After tried in the water can't return it. If you do a review you must tried and surf with it.

Interesting Feedback we haven't experienced that as of yet. Although as the water is still super warm am only in the 4/3. Do you find the top shoulder areas still as flexible as your previous Hyperfreaks. Cheers

What size did you get I’ll buy it off you if you want to sell it

totally agree, the stichting is a bad design across the chest, the seams link to the arms so every arm paddle pulls the chest zip across... get some other wetty instead

Not worth it. i bought it new and i have less than 10 session wearing it and the material start falling apart, the knee pads leaks water, Since it still under warranty I’m sending it to O’Neill for repair.

adding half a MM without comprimising flexibility it a sentence that is self contradicting 🤣 also, it seems like many of the inner seems are not taped which is wierd as I recall everything being taped in the hyperfreak comp - but maybe I am wrong. the comp-x for sure is taped on the inside. so seems to me oneill cut many corners to get to a price point they wanted... shore, if you are only reading from the marketing material than ok but a real review is better...

Hey @IIIxwaveIII On the whole extra 0.5mm of neoprene, the argument is that given the Technobutter Neoprene is now so stretchy if you were to compare a 4.5mm Technobutter to a 4mm Ultraflex or similar the flexibility would be the same. It's also super tough to measure a 0.5mm increment in neoprene given all the layers etc but I suppose it's just to reassure customers that the suits are warm. You are right Hyperfreak comp was all internally taped but it wasn't Fluid Seam Welded on the outside as the Hyperfreak Fire is and I would say from experience that Fluid Seam Weld is better than internal taping only and lasts longer as long as you dont leave it to cook in the sun. By introducing the Hyperfreak Fire they removed the Pyscho 1 from the range and it has more features than that suit did but is more expensive than that suit was so maybe that's a better way to look at it. The top of the range is still the Psychotech which again is more expensive but you gain the air bubble neoprene and single-lined neoprene. Obviously, we are a shop and do sell these suits but with the videos, we try and make all the marketing waffle easier for customers to digest. I think its helpful as even takes us ages to try and figure out what the brands are up to and we are the supposed experts. If it gives you peace of mind the Hyperfreak Fire was our best-selling Winter Suit in 2022/23. Cheers

which one is better 5,4,3 hyperfreak or 4,3 hyperfreak fire? for very cold water?
@TravisVarga Жыл бұрын
Built in hood on the 5/4 is nice and I think it could end up feeling stretchier since I think the verdict is TB4 is more durable hence sacrifices stretch a bit. Also those fluid seam welds. Either one would work good - also check out the new Blueprint.

I think a Hyperfreak Fire 5/4 is gonna be the warmest option of all those suits. If thats of any help.

I bought a Epic 5-4 back zip. But not really pleased with it. Would a Hyper fire 4-3 be warmer thanthere Epic 5-4 ?? Looking warmth and comfort in cold Belgium weather.

the one problem with oneill wetsuits ( i have two of them) is that they take forever to dry :/
@shore2 жыл бұрын
Hi Roi, we agree O'Neill has never been a fan of the quick dry linings mainly I think because they get so heavy when wet so actually slow you down in the water as you use more energy. I think it's down to personal preference and never been cold in a decent O'Neill suit and sadly we only really get one session a day at our local due to tides so isn't too much of a problem. A good wetsuit drying hanger helps

@@shore yes i agree it really heavy on the body! And usually i surf a day after day so i need it to dry quick 😁

no zipperless hyperfreak fire? deal breaker for me...
@shore2 жыл бұрын
Hey Guy, The Hyperfreak Comp (Zipless version) has always been different from the main Hyperfreak Suit in the line up so not probably the reason they are not making a zipless version. Usually suit manufacturers only make suits zipless for flex very rarely do brands do flex and warmth and make them zipless.

Not great reviews for this suit, normal hyper freak superior
