Just got myself 2006 4.4 disco 3 hse. Needs some brake work, air compressor fix, gear shifter was stuck and you could not put in drive. Needs some sills to be welded. And general maintenance things. Othen then that looking forward to use it. 👍👍👍

I’ve had my ‘12 for seven years now. Bought it with 72k, now have 105k. One thing I do with all cars I buy: go to CarFax, make sure it was consistently serviced at a dealer. Take VIN, call dealer and ask for them to send you the service records (most will if you’re nice). My L322 5.0L NA had the timing chain done under warranty (there was a TSB at some point to switch to metal guides). All in all, never had a major issue. Had coolant leak on both heads and had to pay for gaskets. Otherwise any issues I’ve repaired myself (air struts main cost - but rotors/pads are easy, now have parts for the full front end suspension replacement from Lemforder). Also upgraded to 18” wheels, Terrafirma adapters, and 32” KO2s. Beast takes me everywhere off road…

Yuck. I just did headgaskets on a 2012. Installed solid thread inserts in ALL headbolt holes.

Welp....2 months into my L322 ownership and discovered there was no blade key in the fob. Of course I discovered this after a month trip in long term parking...in the rain at midnight. And yes the battery was flat after sitting thus the search for the blade key in the fob. AAA to the rescue and a new battery today. No rust but a few little things to sort out. Still love this thing.

I’ve had an o6 S since it was almost new. Shockingly decent car. 179k miles on it, only just changed the clutch. Pain in the ass kinda to work on and mechanics hate them but it’s been stupendously reliable. Hasn’t needed much at all. The interior feels kinda cheap, but it’s been garaged and still fun as shit to drive. Just did the headliner myself. Kind of a pain in the ass but no sunroofs means do-able. You can toss a surprising amount of shit in the back. The trick as with all cars like this is finding ones that haven’t been owned and “upgraded” by 19 year olds.
@Ankeneering12 күн бұрын
I kinda don’t trust the modern ones without a metric fuckton of miles. They CLEARLY maintained it properly, both by looking at it and the fact that it has 200k I’d love to see the receipts, because they exist whether or not they are still with the car. This is a buy-all-day situation. (As long as there is a video somewhere of it actually running, starting and running long enough to ascertain it doesn’t overheat after 5 mins.)
