First of all thank for your tutorial. Let me just say that part1 was way better and easier to understand. For other beginners I used the method at 18:44 on the camera and with I-location and I-rotation it worked greatly. I've always found other camera tutorials hard to understand, so I gave that method a chance even if it wasn't intended for this and it might be an "unelegant" way to do it, but for a beginner it could be a great solution.

Hi, thanks for your feedback ! as this is in development, I could only test it on blender 4.2 and 4.3 for now. I will check some of the older versions later to see how much it can be compatible. I upload patches every now and then, until we have a stable version :D

I also noticed that if you are in one of the default orthogonal views that we get when pressing numpad 1,2,3, etc, the trajectories cant be calculated. I must find a workaround for this

Is there an option to edit retospectively? For example, if I'm using spline instead of stepped, or even with stepped, will there be an option that allows me to delete frames and reinterpolate based on the drawing curve? When I clicked it that's what I thought it would do, but I see this is mostly over draw-to-anime aspects. But for those of us with complex rigs, the idea mentioned really would help us a lot! Also, will there be a setup including all location, rotation, etc.
@dedouze
@dedouze 27 күн бұрын
Hi, I am actually developping something close to this for a more advanced version. thanks for the feedback ! It will either be a simple interpolation, or a way to reshape the drawn curve. A complex interpolation by checking the curve would be a lot more work to code ahah
@Bahamamos
@Bahamamos 27 күн бұрын
@@dedouze Thank you! Can't wait to see how this beauty turn out! And facts, going by curve would probably require AI [not a lot of addons have AI for animation tbt]. Only thing I can think of if it at all helps (big guesstimation): What if you interpolate based on numerical value. For example, the UI asks how many interpolations. One can insert 5 thus each line on a curve is 5. And eachline can reresent a certain framerate [2s, 3,s 5,s etc] also in the UI right next to the numbers. This could automate those moments where it's reinterpolating the curve based on the frame rate given from a spline animation already existing [or constant, I suppose].. But you can ignore this idea lol. It's just something that popped into mind when you replied.

This is awesome! What about an option/toggle to control z-space by pressure on the first line? You could make the stroke appear thicker/closer as it would be coming forward sinking back in space relative to the picture plane.

LOVE IT! This has been on my feature list for the 2D animation editor I'm working on, but the challenge there is segmenting complex objects and inferring geometry. In 3D you already have the geometry. Nice!

I found an interesting limitation: animation of the rig with your add-on can be undo, but not always deleted. So, if you've saved the animation and would like to change something later, there is a 50% probability that the animation of a specific rig can be deleted. Even if Blender shows that the animation is deleted, it may still be there, but not always. Yet, the idea of the add-on and the result are amazing, thank you very much!

You know, the pronunciation of the latter half of "re-MEM-BAH" reminds me of the word, "맨발" (Maen-BAL) in Korean, which means, "bare feet". So, re-bare feet, or, "do bare feet again". Kinda funny.

Animating position is stable, but rotation still needs improvement. It works better for objets with simple constrained rotations, like stuff moving on 1 axis at a time. I have the solution in mind but I need to learn more python math formulas fast to apply it ahah

Should be able to use the cross product of the first couple of points to get the axis of rotation right?
@dedouze
@dedouze Ай бұрын
hi, yeah I tried something like this, and finally i found a formula to calculate the invisible plane on the trajectory, and tried to rotate something fixed on that plane. if the object is not really aligne to the plane, i have to keep its initial rotation in account, and it works but now for the eye it can still be confusing
