Shame this lineup imploded so quickly. Of course, it was no surprise. I’m shocked that they were able to make a complete album.

I don't recall if I saw the 1990 appearance when it aired, but I definitely saw the 1991 appearance. So cool hearing True Gravity and Kind of Bird with brass. And I was at the Lakewood show Johnny mentioned in the introduction. Little Feat opened. Great, great show.

We were at this show. 7th row center orchestra. One of the best shows I’ve seen. We couldn’t hear for an hour after leaving.

what a fire setlist too, the old school intro to killing floor is quite rare after '67 from Jimi, he played my favs Hey baby, Room full of mirrors and "Have you heard" or as it is officially named, Straight Ahead... such sadness he isn't with us anymore... Hasn't been for over 50 years, what a crazy thing to say... Man i miss Jimi

Over all these years, Jimi still enchants me and so many. I first heard him when I was about 14 years old when in junior high. I listened to "Smash Hits." Then I got all the albums I could and grooved on them endlessly, and grieved his early death. I had discovered him near the time of his demise. For a time, I took his music to be a mystical channel to...something. So, after becoming a follower of Jesus in 1976, I put away the music for years, fearing idolatry. But much later, I returned to it, not as a religion, but with appreciation for his unsurpassable gifts as a guitarist, technologist (or the guitar and studio), and as a composer of brilliance and beauty. All these live recordings, bootleg or otherwise, reveal how creative Jimi was on stage, the mark of a kind of jazz musician, really. Any tune could sound differently on any night but are still be pure Jimi. And let's never forget his inimitable sideman, Mitch Mitchell, Noel Redding, and Billy Cox (who is still with us as "the last gypsy).

Look at his fretting hand in the first pic. His little finger is longer than my middle finger. If you think somebody with small hands could have the dexterity similar to somebody like Hendrix, Clapton, Page, etc, you don't know anything

I saw the shows preceding and after this one, both in Davenport, Iowa. First at Tom’s Turkey Tap (maybe 100 present) and the show after at Danceland Ballroom (less than 100 present). We still laugh about one of my best friends memories at the ballroom. He always says “I used the urinal next to Allan Holdsworth”. Funny but true
Guitars are tuned to E standard unlike the first album they were tuned to E flat.

one of the best spoonful renditions, maybe better than the Wheels of Fire version. Clapton takes full command, and leads the band through the dynamic variations

Unbelievable. That last song was very complex with the time changes and/or tempo changes. The Allman Brothers were not just a Southern Rock band. That last song was bordering on jazzy fusion. The horns sound fantastic..What a superb performance.
