With even as rough as the audio is on this I can not imagine how huge he must've sounded in the room. I saw Clapton back a year and a half ago and he still sounded enormous in the arena. That's the thing with these guys. They just have an incredible presence in their sound that people just don't have today and this was way before modern sound techniques. I honestly can't imagine what he could've accomplished if he had kept his head on straight. Crazy to think he only lived 3 more months past this.

@carlygtr Carl have to wonder what is it about Freedom, Ezy Rider, and Message To Love that still sound modern to me? That ending of Freedom is my case in point. Oh and Jimi is an underrated lyricist, no? Surrealism in poetry, even drug-influenced poetry, is a legit thing IE a known field of study & intellectual endeavor. PS Walden just posted to FB a super cool photo of Gomez - I would say, present day.
