carlygtr - THIS IS PURE GOLD! If anyone could clean it up, mix it, balance it- whatever, I’d buy TWO COPIES! And so would every Clapton fan that loves him for his playing, intense, sharp, sweet, tasteful-overflowing with feeling like he did back in the days of the Dominoes. People love him now, of course, but as a guitarist, he was just a different animal back then. He came back for “Nothin’ But the Blues” by Martin Scorsese, Thanks for posting this masterpiece!!

I would love to have a copy of this on vinyl. It sounds great for what it is. It’s a great performance too. I should add considering I’m listening to it through a iPad.😊

How long do you really think someone can keep emptying themselves like this?Don’t accuse him of ‘phoning it in’,just be grateful we got to 10:56 see & hear someone of this magnitude, his crime is surviving, not only has he survived,he has aged with absolute class as far as I’m concerned, this period is too often overlooked

Great post, Eric sounds inspired here. Cool to compare this show to Fillmore outing. Use of the wah-wah is excellent throughout the show.

I like the recoding of the Fillmore show more. But, they were all alive and feeling it fully at this time. Fantastic. God, these versions of Why Does Love Have To Be So Sad just floor me. Such a different development of the song than on the studio album, which is one of the best songs ever. But, Clapton just takes the band and the song to another level. Such passion.

EC at his absolute peak on this tour, after which he descended into addiction and the spark went out of his playing and only rarely returned sporadically thereafter.

Fab playing by EC - very fluid with great tone out of his fingers & guitar. His playing is singing the entire set.

Imagine this band without Bobby - totally different. Shame he and Eric don’t reconcile whatever the issue is. Clearly- its not Bobbys chops. What a band- wish they could unearth more soundboard recordings. Favorite live quartet in rock history. ❤
