If you use the Lens of Truth outside of Ikana Canyon by a ring if rocks you'll see a dead soldier asking for help. Give him a blue potion you'll get the stone mask. With the stone mask you can walk freely around the pirate fortress. They don't see you, except Avril and her crew in the hookshot room. That's it. You'll need the mask of scents to find mushrooms for kotake (but make sure you find her sister on the first day again or she'll be absent from her shop looking for her.) Wear the mask in the lost woods and swipe a bottle at the purple clouds you see. Only need one. You can buy blue potions afterwards for 100 rupees.

You can buy a powder keg from the bomb shop in West clock town (as a goron only) after earning the permit blowing up the goron races boulder once. It carries with you through time resets. Heads up, you'll need one for Ikana Castle blowing a hole in the ceiling on the roof.
