It's so buttery smooooth. Edit: You can ground pound and open the door yourself :)

TBH as a 90s kid that bought this in October 2000, I'm so used to the N64's limitations that this is jarring and weird to me. Glad you're able to play it though! It's not as bad on the N64, even the original disc version of the gamecube port was buggier since their plan was "Just have the GameCube overpower the game to play it." You would have crashed in the 4th (and hardest) dungeon like 15 times.

I know, it's weird to play a game like this at a decent frame rate after playing the N64 version.

I will say it again, as bad as the GameCube version can be, it has been stable enough for me over the years, outside of a few small lockups. I have never had it get to bad but the N64 version was always more stable, while a lot of people hate the Wii U VC version, it also ran find enough for me. I can deal with the sub 30FPS, I just hate that the GameCube version can lockup. The worst I ever had was a loading loop, but that did sour my opinion on the GameCube version a bit. But for a first play I got all the masks at least back then. Even so that port is a mess.

Personally i prefer to play at 40 fps as the native framerate for the n64 zelda games is actually 20 fps if you can believe it. tripling the frames imo makes some parts of the game way harder than it needs to be where as 40 doubles the frame count leading to a smoother experience without affecting gameplay as much. for the other fps thing to go with that, which name escapes me atm i go 12-13 fps down from 16.6 for 60 fps

You can open the goron village door yourself if you ground pound. You don't have to rely on the goron outside its door.

The original N64 had pretty good consistency with it's framerate, it just wasn't 60fps, the old emulator you were on probably had framerate drops below the usual which was causing issues
@PsySlik3 күн бұрын
The GameCube port is notorious for having a bunch of crashes and frame drops, im so glad I don't need to worry about it anymore

I believe your joy stick in the emulator was not mapped correctly. It's a common and very annoying issue with nintendo64 emulation. The original n64 controller had very precise aiming in these games.
@PsySlik3 күн бұрын
Yeah, you need a higher range to move accurately but a lower range to aim accurately. Luckily, the PC Port fixes these issues simply by running smoothly
