Any advice on how to prevent gaping across the front neckline? The boatneck is just a bit too wide and therefore gapes across the top of my chest. Cant figure out a good solution.

I like your designs better than the movie's. The color palate of the first dress is very nice. Matching the dress with the jacket makes it look more cohesive. Good job.

I would give a good deserved 9 to the first look. I'm into the velvet blazer, I'm looking for a royal blue. The aim is to recreate something but for you and your body, I'd say you did a great job! and...don't know why..but the second look reminds me the ethereal vibe of Lady Isabel in Saint Seiya rather then the Fendi set🤣

Both 8/10, not similar but thinking about what suit you is clever and they look really fine to me (the 2nd didn t fit Anne at all I think...) ❤love this série, keep on going please

omg i got SO excited when you showed us the skirt-fabric for the blazer-complimenting-dress!!! the colours are PERFECT together!!! also happy to see the vampire's dress-fabric-top in your video, i always love seeing your projects again! so - ya, i think purple would have been cool - but you can always make ANOTHER! :) :) i also think you can just wear a pretty purple dress with this blazer, and that will do the trick :) the set... mh. i preferred without the sleeves, too. BUT i feel like the frills hit a little too high, somehow, and together with the fuller skirt it reads to me as... "clutter"? because right now i think they hit at your waist, and that's basically where you never want to add visual clutter like frills... maybe if the frill was a little lower, the fuller skirt wouldn't add to it and rather compliment the frill? idk... it's most important whether or not you feel good, and i definitely think the dress, and also the set is cute! and one can see how the movie inspired you, for sure, both of them get a 7/10 for "ya, that's inspired by that movie", and then the dress gets at least 8,5, maybe 9/10 for prettiness. the set comes in at about 5,5/10 for prettiness but that's my fault, and not the dress's fault LOL i'm the problem, bc i didn't fancy the inspiration to begin with haha

That's the whole point of sewing things for yourself, you see things you love and make them to suit your own body type and style. You're truly an inspiration.

Lovely outfits, the shirring was very successful in the first. Some years ago I tried to recreate the outfit also worn by Anne Hathaway in The Devil wears Prada. I could not find the exact pattern so it was an approximation but I still liked and wore it.

You're a harsh critic of yourself. On the velvet dupe, I rate it a 9.75 out of 10. You perfectly captured the spirit of the original look. And, I like that the velvet jacket and silk velvet shirred top are the same coloring; very chic. RE: the 2nd look -- I thought your creative pattern changes were far superior to Anne Hathaway's look. I did not like her designer outfit at all. That said, as much as I like floaty, swingy skirts, I thought the skirt was a bit too flowy and the waistband needed to sit tighter on your waist to prevent a gap highlighting the separation between the end of the shirred bottom of the top (before the sheer peplum begins) and the skirt 's waistband. Also, I'm not a fan of the hem of the lining stopping before the hem of the skirt. I know that's popular, but in this case, given that the skirt already has a quasi uneven hem (I think, it was hard to tell), I felt the effect was to make the skirt appear unfinished. Regardless of my opinion, your efforts to challenge yourself and "experiment" always seem to stretch my concept of what's possible. Thx for sharing. I love your fearlessness. 🙂

I’m actually very happy the garments are not exactly like the originals. I think your garments are more pleasing and look fabulous on you. Me, I would have made that second look as a dress and put a zipper in the back and use your gored skirt bottom - but long sleeves as I like sleeves. But that’s me. My ratings are 8 out of 10 for both outfits as I think they turned out great. 🥰❤👍 I can’t think of any movies right now, but I’ll think on it and comment later.

I like them both. The cream more! I'm seeing the inspiration in Ur dresses from the originals. Beautiful outfits that look beautiful on U! Be blessed alll.

I think the ruffles in the original Fendi set were strips of fabric cut in circles, giving them lighter wave than a gathered strip of fabric. So glad you like both sets and will wear them! That's the most important thing imo

If I wanted it to be longer can I add the length?
@ThrillsandStitches16 күн бұрын
Yes, you can extend the skirt of the Oceane dress. Add the wanted length equidistantly from the existing skirt hemline.

Such a pretty dress ⭐️ With that style (and colour) of zip, a lapped zip insertion would probably work better to cover it, so that's something you might want to consider next time you're not able to find an invisible zip with a good colour match. May I ask where you bought the fabric and power mesh?
@LRWdesign17 күн бұрын
I didn’t think of a lapped zipper either. 🤦♀ I’m so used to doing invisible I forget all about lapped zips. Great idea.

A good tutorial, I would have liked to hear you explain what you were doing though, by the time I had finished reading what you were doing you had gone onto the next bit. I am afraid the constant singing put me off, it made it hard to concentrate on what you were doing, I didn’t even get past the first one without turning the sound off.

Hey does anyone know of a good zipper tutorial? They always show the top and alignment but no one ever shows you what happens at the bottom and how the two dress panels come together at the end of the zipper... Amazing dress by the way !

Your tutorials are great and I thought I had watched every single one. The invisible zipper one was great. It's only the very bottom of it that gets me every time.
