Everything is ok but the calories calculation is wrong. Gaining calories should be 2700 of a 70 KG person if he hits gym 4-5 days a week or moderately active whole day .

Don't follow him blindly Search maintenance calorie on Google and then enter details especially the ACTIVITY LEVEL. and then calculate the maintenance calorie 150 to 200 surplus for MUSCLE gain and 150 to 200 calories for FAT loss. this is the right way rather than multiplying your weight into 40 because every one has different activity level and yes gym is must with consistency
