I have a 1200 Crosstourer too. With normal clutch. I’m so happy with it. It’s the best motor I’ve ever had, and I had a few. I hope to join a group of bikers with crosstourers and have a ride-out. That would be fantastic. Maybe we could ride for a good cause, like riding against genocide and warcrimes.

Challenging! Burt what an adventure Steve! Looked alike a really good time, especially with the ability to go exploring a bit. Last year's Ute trip we went down the Divide to camp on the Coast in a massive NP on the Vic/NSW Border and explored the coast on the way back - found a whole new lifetimes worth of places to explore, it's great country!

7m10s, I know how steep that trail is, it's one of my local loops. Lucky it was repaired recently, otherwise it would have been a choke point going up it. Was difficult to rode down it before! Theres a fun route from KV to the coast thats an alternative to the mountain pass and dirt.
@BigBikeAdventures27 күн бұрын
So steep they had to concrete it instead of continuous repair. Great back yard you’ve got, I didn’t really have time to explore the KV region but expected there’s plenty of great tracks in the whole region if the Trek was anything to go by.
@TRAVERSE_ADV27 күн бұрын
@@BigBikeAdventures yes KV has lota of gates. Best to head west or SE. The hillclimb to the concrete is the repaired section. Once you get to the coast, heading back into the range, there is years of exploration there, and relatively overlooked compared to the rest of the east coast of Australia when it comes to ADV. 11 minute mark is what it looked like about 6 or 7 months ago before the repair. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKSxamunZph_qs0si=m6C-1l6Rn7mRwDU7

Nice work Steve, glad the Ducatti rider was ok and the bike relatively unscathed. RE: side stand sensor - I fitted a bracket (Rottweiler) on my 890 Adv to relocate the side stand sensor up on the engine near the Arrow mid pipe. Alternatively with the OEM cat converter in place the bracket/ sensor can be re-mounted away from the side stand to stop the engine cut outs on jumps you're experiencing - simple fix. RE: Arrow mid-pipe - it's like a new bike with the cat converter replaced - my left leg no longer cooked by heat, improved throttle response, and a nice note from the (stock) pipe. There's still some heat from the engine for sure, but I run a carbon fibre heat shield (P3) to protect the shock from heat, which also helps reduce the heat on legs issue. Ride safe mate, happy travels.

As a now older guy , who fondly remembers doing it all in the bush on a 84 IT 200 L weighing about 107kg wet from memory …can’t believe the guys like you riding the heavy new style adventure bikes through such challenging terrain . Part of me says “what are you all thinking “ the other.. yeah I can see it , power sliding a powerful heavy beast , and crashing through a river crossing on a bike with a windscreen and luggage …cool I guess😊
@BigBikeAdventures2 ай бұрын
Big bikes are better for the longer rides and greater distances which generally require luggage. It would be great to ride a 200-500cc bike everywhere. Every ride across varying terrain is a compromise.

Awesome ride. 👍 I’m glad the riders that had off seem to be in good shape after shaking it off. You caught some great water crossing footage! 📸 It’s a shame about the road but like you said good at the same time. On my family’s farm, before it was paved, my Dad would have a guy put down oil on the part that went by the house because it would choke us out when it was dry. EPA would have none of that these days.
@BigBikeAdventures2 ай бұрын
It’s crazy to think that putting oil on the ground would cause global warming, covid and monkey pox. But what would I know, I thought it came from the ground. We used to do the same with fence posts, termites must be environmentalist as well, they don’t like it either. 🤷♂️
