Day 3.5 We are still in the Muddy Forest. Shayne is well cared for but we still need to get out of the forest, The trip out of the forest becomes it's own adventure and we are grateful to be uninjured.

I’ve watched the 360 footage from many angles, nothing obvious apart from low traction. Even my counter-steer reaction was late because it happened so quickly.

Glad you're ok Steve, I haven't seen a big bike roll over the top of the rider like that for a long time. It could have been a punctured lung, broken limbs territory, or worse. The ambo is right though, live your life and get out there. Ride safe and here's to the adventure continuing.

Hey good to see a bad situation turn out OK'ish. I was able to sort out where you were (Fernwicks Rd - Cobcrofts Trail - Mooraback Rd) but you said you were going through to Bellbrook when you were at the washed out bridge. I am assuming by trying to link up with Coachwood Rd. Have you been through there before??? Because I think you were going to get stuck with some locked gates further on (at least that's what my NSW Topo tells me). Cheers.

When I saw your off footage before I didn't realize that Roxette slid over you. You lucked out! In a couple of ways! Looking forward to the rest of the footage. I took the T7 for an afternoon excursion on the twisty Lost Coast roads here in Humboldt. Ferndale to Patrolia. Minimal dirt but scenic like Big Sur in spots. and yes, I take the InReach with me. Thanks for reminding me to put it on charge tonight., since I always ride alone.

You lost the rear end pretty quickly. Gosh I hate that feeling. Amazing footage. I've had my 901 Exp for 6 months now and I've noticed it needs a bit of preload added to get it better balanced and suspension working well. I am 88 kg and added 6 turns to shock preload which seems to really help. Clickers on sport setting. This really improves the bike's balance (no luggage). I'm yet to try the bike fully loaded up with camping gear. But I imagine loading up the rear end with all those bags, you could impact the handling and balance a fair bit? - which could make it more prone to sliding out? Just a thought and worth considering. Maybe a beefed-up rear shock spring would help? Cheers

It doesn’t look it but it was very slippery. Even in slo mo it took me a few seconds to counter steer. I’m not sure what caused it apart from probably not enough grip on the rear, the tyre was pretty low.

TC was on low, but throttle input was neutral, zero traction was the problem.

Maybe the traction control has something to do with the way the bike is behaving. Doing its job in the greasy stuff but suddenly gripping when on the firm surface. Just a theory.

@random-videos the bike is great, it’s a bit shorter than the AT and the geometry is a little different but this last crash just the conditions, so slippery.
