great video. Unfortunately not working for me. Carefully removed the battery and replaced with a seiko replacement. Tried the reset by shorting AC and + with the crown full out but the second hand doesnt move. Ive checked the voltage on the new battery and its 3v as per. Any ideas? thanks!

That, Sir, was truly mesmerizing. Seeing all the parts laid out makes you really appreciate how complicated and incredible a mechanical watch is. Vostok is a true underdog. They are SO amazing bang for buck. No other company offers anything even close for $100. Heck, they don't even OFFER any watches at $100!! I have an Amphibia. Bought it to scratch my mechanical watch itch, after making the grave error of selling a beautiful Seiko JDM when i was desperate for cash. I'm shocked at just how great these Vostoks are.

Komandirskie and Amphibia are two separate lines of watches. Amphibia are better in most meaningful ways. They did put some 'higher end' Komandirskies is cases that looked like Amphibia, but the back plate still would have been a Komandirskie themed one, and not say "Amphibia.

At about :30 you refer to the impulse jewel being in the wrong position but I don't know what specifically to look at. I wish you had placed an arrow somehow. This would have helpd me follow along. I was confused therefore throughout.

I bought an Eaton 1/4 century watch as working on EBay only to find the hands didn't move with the movement. I thought about complaining but since I'm a watchmaker/clockmaker I decided to just take it apart and clean and oil it while I also tightened the Canyon Pinyon. I have since thought that I should have complained because letting him get away with this the next time he might claim a nonworking watch was a working and the buyer likely wouldn't be able to repair it himself and might have to spend a considerable sum of money to put it right

Crazy thing is? You can get a watch with that movement for 100-150 US dollars. Scary thing? Not that far off from a Rolex.

This video helped me identify a fake Padi that I bought second hand. Bezel was super nice and had the right feel like the Original. It had the NH36 text, greenish dial and the pip on the bezel tjat gave it away. I got a full refund and now buying the real thing, retail! Thanks mate!
