As someone who works in IT, I know Pilots have it rough. I got 20 hours of Pure OT for being on what would be the equivalent of weekend standby. in other roles the usual rate paid for oncall was about $500~ for holding the on-call phone for a week. when I had to attended site it was a minimum of a 3-hour callout paid 1.5.

Hi jane. Would that be a good idea to do rpc with navigation endorsement and then jump into ppl straightway? I goal is to be a commercial pilot. Just to save money i want to do rpc first then directly do ppl so that my theory and practical go easier and save money at the same time. Please advise..

It’s been sad hearing the voices changes slowly in ATC. One of I’m guessing the supervisors (since I’d hear him in both approach and tower plus overnight during AFIS) was great. Never got his name but I just remember the “contact Brisbane centre 129. Eighttt fiveeee. G’day” as if he was a DJ. And departing 29 via RUPEG we’d get an early left turn without needing to request it. Still all the controllers do a fantastic job. As for Jamie if you’re there when tower shuts you might catch the safety car and their “good morning miss J.” At 10 PM 😂

Hello Hello, I was just wondering if buying your online courses alone would be enough to study and take my RPL exams? Any suggestions in this space would be greatly appreciated. The idea is to get done with the theory bit first and then go to the a flying school to actually learn to fly. In the meantime, I am flying on a Simulator to get a headstart I guess :)
@theraceweekend55817 ай бұрын
Oh also, one of the flying school in ACT suggested to go with RAAus first and then convert to CASA license, are you able to throw some light on this whole RAAus licenses please ? Maybe a topic for you next video 😁. Thanks in advance! Love your videos, I am a new subscriber to your channel :)

hi jane Glad you are back and safe!... have been wondering why there's isn't youtube notification from your channel...btw i have some questions ... 1. did you cut power just before touch down or upon touch down? what is the reason? 2. you applied right full rudder upon touch down? 3. applying brake in this case would be meaningless since you lose hydraulic? 4. would the emergency technique be different if there is cross wind during approach? Many Thanks & God Bless.
@studybeforeflight8 ай бұрын
1. I only cut power after we touch down, in case we want to go around on approach. 2. no, rudder doesn't do much to the scenario. It was better to keep the plane on the runway straight for as long as we can. Try to go to the right doesn't really help with the suddenly left turn, it will only make the whole landing more unstable. 3. yea, even with little hydraulic left that we can use brakes, the left wheel was gone, meaning we will be braking the right only. Thus promoting a right drift, which will make the landing unstable. 4. could be, if the left is strongly from the left. To be honest, no time to think too much hahaha
