A TD under my Affiliate is having trouble uploading a tournament. Is there anything special I need to do to enable him to upload tournament reports?
@USChessFederation14 күн бұрын
A few problem solving points, 1) Check if his membership is current and your affiliate membership is current. 2) Double check the simple information in the form like time control (that it is formatted properly) as well as location as occasionally county is autofilled versus country. If the TD is authorized to rate events under your affiliate you should be good to go.

@@USChessFederation You’re welcome! I tried both the cpu and gpu versions on my Intel graphics card, to see which suited me more. I played them in a match. The cpu won +1 with 5 draws. Maybe mostly equal. I also played the cpu version against Deep Hiarcs (drew a match with Hiarcs set at maximum, approx 3350 to 3400), beat Rodent IV (around 2980), but lost to Komodo Dragon 3.3 set at 3500 max (Lc0 lost -3 =3). I need to test it properly against Stockfish 16.1. It lost one match -2 =2, but maybe Stockfish had more threads (they keep resetting to 3 instead of my desired 1 each). Overall, I’m happy with Lc0 cpu, with the largest medium network, on my very not-a-gaming laptop (Asus Zenbook). :-) I reckon I’ll use Lc0 for analysis, as it seems more human-like. I reckon it plays around the 3300 to 3400 level. Thanks again!

@@USChessFederation Did a lot of testing. The gpu version for my hardware has higher nps and nodes overall, versus the cpu, but in head-to-head the cpu either holds its own, or wins. It won a match, and now is currently 6 draws and 1 win versus the gpu, in a 3+2 10 game match. Output shows higher gpu nodes, but it is not translating to better results. Interesting.

Going from verge of resigning to finding a brilliant resource is the best feeling! Let's GOOat Qxa2!! I didn't see Ng5 as a potential threat and Nxf7 line blew my mind 🤯 Thanks for sharing this super instructive and entertaining game 🙏 PS. I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets first round jitters 😄

Ms (GM?) Lee is an outstanding player- mature and displaying wisdom far advanced of her years. I would be interested in hearing about some of the challenges she has faced as a woman and if she feels the situation is improving. Best of luck to you in your career, Alice!

It will be a psychological battle no matter what form or preparations each player has made. If one player can get a few wins to start, the other will be on the back foot and having to fight to stay in. A lot will depend on the intelligence gathering and opening preparations ability of the two contestant's Seconds.

My prediction, well it is not really a prediction. My hope is for both players to play their best form and as always, may the best player win because all of us viewers want to see the most exciting chess games possible with the least number of mistakes and least predictable draws.

Ding is the underdog and performs best as the underdog. The pressure is on Gukesh. He'll be nervous!

Ding..after winning and being second best... trying to fool others. He has been working on his game all along. He will defeat gukesh...and again go in coma or sickness to prove world he is helpless. The prized possession he has he will not give it to anyone.. Carlson just said. I don't believe in this number one and tropies...hence ooted out as no competitors... Carlson is not playing..mental game to this effect of Ding. Carlsen knows when to lose and win...Ding should focus on that and not play emotional drama, just practing behind doors gathering info how others play.... Olympic was not his goal his goal is this match...And has been bullying everyone...If he lose..he will be an active player or leave chess...

Before the 1972 Championship match, Fischer had never beaten Spassky. They had played 5 games -- two draws and three wins for Spassky.

History repeating itself with the challenger winning?
@DarthUke2 ай бұрын
@@USChessFederation - I think so . . . and for the same reason. Spassky (and now Ding too) lost the match before it even started. Ding is completely in his head. I expect him to lose a game early due to nerves, and then crumble under the pressure.

Useful video - appreicate it. Just a small nitpick... You didn't use WinZip, you used 7Zip. :-) Also, I *THINK* Swiss Sys tries to discourage using external storage (ONE Drive, DropBox, etc.) for any of its files. Not sure why - I suspect because those may not always be available to you if you find yourself without an internet connection (which happens to me frequently at various venues - unknown WiFi passwords at schools, churches, etc; etc.). I could be mistaken on that last point, but I recall seeing a caution/warning on it pop up. These are useful videos though - the content is good and I will be going through them. I appreciate the time & effort and thanks USCF! 👍✌
