Thanks a bunch for watching my video and taking the time to comment. You might have a lot going on: Direct Short to Ground: The most common reason for a fuse to blow repeatedly is a direct short to ground in the circuit it protects. This occurs when a wire’s insulation is damaged, allowing the wire to contact the vehicle’s metal body or another ground point. 2. Damaged Wiring Harness: The wiring harness connected to the OBD port may have sustained damage, causing intermittent shorts. 3. Faulty OBD Port: The OBD port itself could be damaged or have a loose connection, leading to short circuits. 4. PCM Issues: Although rare, problems with the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) could cause electrical issues affecting the OBD system

Does anyone know how to use the stopwatch function that comes up on the instrument cluster face? I get the stopwatch function by repeatedly pressing the end of the indicator stalk but can't find any way of starting it! Have had this car 12 years and have yet to find anyone who knows how to use the bloody thing. Late 2004 E53 X5 3.0 petrol. Cheers

Thanks a bunch for watching and taking the time to ask this great question. Try this press the BC (Board Computer) button on the end of the indicator stalk. 2. Cycle through the BC functions by pressing the BC button repeatedly until you see the stopwatch display. 3. To start the stopwatch, press and hold the BC button for about 2 seconds. 4. To stop the timer, press the BC button briefly. 5. To reset the stopwatch to zero, press and hold the BC button again for about 2 seconds. Please share an update, thanks.

Thanks a bunch for watching my video and taking the time to comment. OBD scan will not exactly show that a fuse is burnt, but with a more advance scanner you will see that something might not be responding. For example a certain module that needs a fuse will return no communication, at the same time there are a lot of things that will not show. What code are you getting related to the CAT? If there was a power interruption you may need to rese the radio. With the car off and key in Accesories mode press the power button, you will be prompted for a radio code. Locate the radio code in the glove box or owners manual and input it, that should fix it. Otherwise check you interior fuses diagram for the word ACC and see if any of those fuses are burnt. Hey bro there is sludge under my oil filler cap too should I run sea foam or something? Car has less than 89k for an 02 I wanna keep it running forever
@WheelsTips
@WheelsTips 12 күн бұрын
Thanks a bunch for watching and taking the time to comment. Personally I don’t sea foam my cars, instead I would use quality oil and do my oil changes more often about every 3000 miles. If you don’t drive a lot, at least every 6 months. Also, make sure you are using the correct octane fuel in your vehicle. Given that your car is a 2002 you may want to check if you have serviced the typical items like spark plugs and engine air filter. Please share an update, thanks.

@ I just did the cam sensor with good success and since I’ve owned it I really only ever put premium . I did the filter same time as cam sensor no more p1350 thank you. I just don’t think the sludge is good long term and maybe I should run some type of oil flush? Or at least drop the oil pan and clean it… My 02 only has 88,600 I want it to stay running
@WheelsTips
@WheelsTips 11 күн бұрын
Thanks for the update, personally I am not a fan of oil flush type products. I prefer to cycle my oil change in a shorter interval using the exact recommended oil per manual. It maybe a lot of work for you to drop the oil pan, but if you’re up for the task something to consider. Please share an update, thanks.

@WheelsTips
@WheelsTips 10 күн бұрын
Thanks for the update. When you removed the sensor did the connection have oil on it? Did you service your oil filler cap seal? You mentioned your oil being dirty. If you are clearing the code and it’s not coming back immediately it’s more likely the oil quality and or the connection. 2. Wiring Issues: There could be an open or short circuit in the wiring harness between the ECM (Engine Control Module) and the VVT sensor. 3. Oil-Related Problems: Dirty oil or oil leaking onto the sensor can cause this error. 4. ECM Issues: In rare cases, the problem might be with the ECM itself. Please share an update and good luck with your diagnosis.

@WheelsTips
@WheelsTips 14 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching the video and taking the time to comment. I would start with trying to locate the fuse for the radio/navi or infotainment unit and removing and inserting to try to do a short reset, also check if it is not blown. If you have tried all the above, I personally would disconnect the battery for a few minutes and try again. There are a lot of things to remember when you disconnect the battery, you may lose a lot of settings, codes and adaptions. You may also want to wait and drive the car a bit to see if you regain the radio. Lastly Google search your year and model with the words Technical Service Bulletin infotainment update failed, it’s possible the dealer maybe able to address it depending on the model you have and year, lots of Subarus have this issue. Hope this helps! Please share an update, thanks. Lastly anyone else reading this be careful updating your Subaru infotainment units, they often times need to be updated via USB and that is very tricky procedure, proceed with caution.

@@tyronecharizard363 If you have no sound you may want to check if you have separate amplifier which could also be fused or bad. If you don't it is possible your radio needs to be repaired. I would also make sure that all your connections are tight and seeded well. If you could get your hands on a wiring diagram for your radio system this diagnostics would be a lot easier. Locksmith makes the key, car starts, I move it, remove frozen battery to thaw/recharge installed and no crank. Looking at that fusebox id noticed snow/ice on a relay, then noticed a circut board below the vent-slats within the box. so not sure what is easyer, the fuxebox or the starter... 10/08 mb e500 12/05/24

2009 Mercedes-Benz E550 W211 Born on 10/2008 @@WheelsTips Short answer, skip to *** I took a risk at a car auction and bought this Mercedes with no key and a battery that was a block of ice. I had a mobile locksmith I’ve used about 100 times make a key on-site. When the key was made, the car was sitting with the suspension fully lowered. I turned the key, and the dash displayed something like “Please wait, car rising.” It then cranked and started success! The locksmith disconnected his jumper equipment, and the car died. I was just happy it had started at all. About 30 minutes after the locksmith left, I tried to jump it again using a jump box, but it wouldn’t start. I figured Mercedes vehicles are picky about having a battery with at least 12.4 volts, so I connected jumper cables from a running car, and it started again. I played around with the car for a few minutes and parked it. It was cold-around 10°F with strong winds-so I didn’t reinstall the plastic pieces the locksmith had removed. I planned to do that the next day. However, the next day the car wouldn’t start. The air suspension ran briefly, then shut off and purged. The SOS light on the dash was flashing, and the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. I tried troubleshooting, the prime suspect, the brake light switch, but while the switch seemed functional, there were no brake lights. And with the key in the run position, the shifter would allow movement; intermittently. I installed a newer battery and gave it a jump, but still nothing. Now, the heater blower was running with the key off, and the SOS system kept activating. This raised a red flag. I noticed some snow on the fuse box under the hood and found frost on a relay’s terminals. I also discovered a blown fuse that matched the one mentioned in your video. Replacing the fuse caused it to blow immediately. Using a flashlight to inspect the fuse box, I noticed what appeared to be a circuit board visible through the vents. This made me suspect water intrusion had caused a short. I used a hair dryer to warm the fuse box for about an hour, but it didn’t help. The car still wouldn’t start. *** After watching your video and with the above combined suspicions.*** I decided to address multiple potential issues simultaneously (breaking a cardinal rule of diagnostics). First, I used the hair dryer again, this time for several hours, removed half the relays to give better access, for using compressed air in an attempt to clear out any remaining moisture. Secondly, I did the ol' tap on the starter thing for good luck. And finally, replaced the blown 20A fuse with a 30A fuse (briefly, for testing). After all what did I have to loose, diveway art? Finally, the car started! I replaced the 30A fuse with a correct 20A fuse, and it worked as well. I’m still unsure if the issue was the starter, a snow/water intrusion short in the fuse box, or just the blown fuse. Tho the latter likely not as it had blown two others, a 15A and 20A prior. Your video provided invaluable insights when I searched for reasons why a relay fuse might blow. Thanks for making it!
