Update any device such as phone that you have and the apps on it, if you connect it to the infotainment. Use a genuine cable for the device you are using. My 2017 Tiguan must have a different problem. The screen comes on and it starts on the FM section. As long as I only touch the tune touchscreen button, I can tune to a radio station and, at least, have music. But nothing else works. If I touch anything else, nothing works and I have to use your suggestion of the reset. Thank you for that! Then I can tune the radio, but again, nothing else works. The physical buttons don't do anything no matter what I do.

Could be a poor connection at the radio or the radio may need to be rebuilt. As long as you have no water issues in the car I would say this would be most common.

@@WheelsTips It's really strange. No water damage. When I stopped to get gas I was listening to music on the sd card and when I got back in the car and started it, all I heard was static coming from the FM radio and no physical or touchscreen button was functional. Doing your reset recommendation at least got the tune button working as long as that was the only button I touched. The two nobs work, at least. Not sure I want to dig around in the dash to see if it's a loose connection. I may have to bite the bullet and ask the VW service dept to take a look at it. As distasteful as that is.

Have you tried to remove all things from the radio such as the SD card, any cables, cd’s and see if that helps?

@@WheelsTips The sd card was the only thing attached and I removed it immediately thinking it may have been corrupted, but it's fine. I checked all the fuses and they're fine, as well. The infotainment system in this car has always been a bit weird in that every few times I started the car, it would go to the first song of the first band on the sd card.

Thanks for the update, if you get a full system scan this may check for any hidden issues that maybe causing this. Also it maybe possible the radio needs to be rebuilt. You can Google search, rebuild remanufacture VW Tiguan radio headunit. This should give you services in your geographical area where you can send the radio to get checked and rebuilt if faulty at a fraction of the cost to replace. Please share an update, thanks.

The mechanic just changed the radiator on my 2015 Honda crv because the car was experiencing an overheating but I was surprised that after a few hours that the little screen on my dashboard show maintenance info and co display screen went blank and the shortcut bottom on my steering stopped working, the screen remained blank till now, i can not control the radio, volume or anything on my steering again, Please how do i get it working again?

And what do i do if that dosnt work? I have a 2017 VW Golf and mine wont power up.

Thanks a bunch for watching my video and taking the time to comment. If there is no power first thing you want to check is your fuses. Locate your fuse panels and see if you can narrow down the fuse. This is what I would do next. Please share an update, thanks.
