This scene is fantastic but completely inconsistent with the rest of the movie. Here Blackout is stronger than a Terminator and can easily defeat an entire human army and annihilate a military base literally alone. The movie would have been way better continuing with this narrative line.

Take this in, an average human runs at 8mph, times that by 45 (which is what the directors said about the scale of the mechs) which means. 1:28 GD ran at 360mph Speed!

I fully expected the Spore mantis scene's fakeout to be that the mantis backs off a few steps, as thouigh cowering or injured, then just as the guy lowers his gun, it's chest armor splits in two to reveal the iconic "mantis arms" which snap out and grab the guy in a flash. As it is, I'm not even fullly convinced it's a hostile crature... it's more like a stick bug or leaf bug without any especially obvious attack methods... though I'm sure it could bite a man in half, it just doesn't look especially predatory.
