My wife at the time. She always had/has a very strong spirit with the Lord. She got me hooked on this band. We would listen to all of these great christan bands while we would be driving. Later my children would be listening and singing to great bands like the sweet comfort band, petra, newsboys etc.

I seen this tour in Detroit at the Royal oak music theater I think in 84 or 85. It was the soldiers under command tour. My personal introduction to Stryper. I was playing in bands at this time and wanted to see if they were as good live as they're albums, I wasn't disappointed!! At the Time I could care less about the message I was there for the music. I probably seen them 5 more times after this show. Twice on THWTD tour. I seen A lot of concerts from motley, priest, maiden ,Ozzy, def Leppard and The Mighty VH. Stryper was as good or Better than Any of them Live. Maybe the only group or groups as tight live were Rush and Queensryche. GREAT BAND!!!👍🎸

I saw the '87 THWTD tour in Fort Worth, Texas at Tarrant County Convention Center.... Like you said... They're a very tight band. What I still remember was how loud the show was. We had to yell at each other in the car on the drive home just to maintain a conversation..... None of us could hear..... 😂. The only guys I've seen as loud are Metallica.

My friend took me to Calvary Chapel for a Saturday concert and Sweet Comfort Band was playing. We were in the overflow room, not in the Chapel and I gave my life to Jesus Christ in 1978. Thank you Lord.

I had a friend & Co worker who was homeless & struggled with demonic possession. I gave him Rez tape "Silence Screams" and it REALLY HELPED him to see Gods glory & turn him around. He said, these guys are the best Rock band on earth 🌎 ! Shaz, wherever you are in 2024 I pray the LORD Jesus Christ has fully captured your heart & mind !

Kevin, thank you! I have seen Phil on a number of occasions. Who was the MC that night? Phil was on tour with Michael Card some time ago - awesome. Kevin, you should put your website link or a link to your video work. I have fond memories of attending Calvary Chapel Bible School in Twin Peaks in the mid 80's.

@@tamlb37 I was saved in the late 70's...there were bands that glorified God (they were humble, they had a burden for souls)..Sweet Comfort Band didn't seemed to be one of them!

Hi Kevin. Not sure if you're still checking this but I see alot of video being cleaned up, sharpened and converted to 4K HD. I heard it wasn't that hard to do with good software. I would love to watch some of these gems in remastered video. The sound and camera work are great though.

Bad theology, great music. Natural man doesnt want God and has zero ability to choose God : dead in trespasses and sins. Darkened in understanding and engaged in evil deeds. That's what the bible says clearly. Repeatedly Jesus said : NO MAN -can- come to Me, except the Father who sent Me, draw him" john 6:44

By buddy James and I would lay on the carpet in front during the concerts. We drove up from South Laguna. I remember thinking, if God can forgive Randy (I think he had even served some prison time) he can forgive me!! Shortly after Chuck Jr. baptized me down at Dana Point. The rest is history. James is a Calvary pastor, and I love Jesus with every fiber of my being. I am thankful my family went to Calvary as it grew from the tents to Costa Mesa. I heard the right words at the right times from Randy in his flip-flops and board shorts.
