Searchin For Love (album version) has THE BEST guitar solo ever. Have never figured out of it splits into a guitar duet or if a Harmonix guitar pedal was used. The song is timeless and could be played on any radio station or at any music venue and still receive lots of luv from the audience!

Bryan has always been my favorite vocalist who, had he been a secular artist, would have been recognized world-wide. But sadly, as was the truth with most Christian artists - some who spoke openly about this - found the Christian labels and management did very little to promote them and allow them to express their talents beyond the scope of their limited approval requirements. And even still, as new artists came - they no longer saw the light of day. Think about it this way, in secular music the artists have their songs played perpetually, 50 years later some of them, but some very profound Christian artists - those who impacted lives then - get nothing now. It's very sad music you are listening to hear is relegated to a free KZbin channel. I'm thankful for it, but it is still a very sad reality.

I saw second chapter of VAX and Silverwind and Ferrell and Ferrell and I saw Brian Duncan solo one time back in the day. I remember I got to go to the concert to second chapter of acts the very day that Keith Greene died. I think that was what happened. They announced it at the show. I just ran into this sweet comfort band a day or two ago. I never heard this. I can’t believe how good this is.

SCB played those gigs a number of times. Best band that would ever come through. They spent time hanging out and chatting afterwards and I always brought extra cash because you knew they had a new album or merchandise. Always beyond great musically and more importantly completely sincere in the gospel message. This brings me back quite a few decades!

After recently seeing The Jesus Music movie in the theater I have been obsessed with listening to SCB! I loved Bryan's music in the 90's and I remember hearing that he was in the SCB, but I kick myself for not looking for their music sooner. I really wish I would have known about these guys when I first started listening to some of the early Jesus music in '79! It was mostly Andre Crouch, Debbie Boone and Evie. I would have loved SCB! I was at this concert in 1982. Remembered it when I found it because my brother had taped it live off of KBRT and I listened to this concert for years. I looked for myself or my brothers in the crowd shot, but couldn't find us.

Thank you for this great video - I saw these guys in Calgary around the time they had this concert, and they blew me away, especially Bryan Duncan with his "big" voice, and i love how they're singing "hearts of fire" songs, my very favorite SCB album out of all of them.

So sad that Randy Thomas has left us ... but, I'm sure he's happier. Randy had a very unique guitar style and he will be missed. Come to think of it ... there are a lot of "Christian" musicians that were tremendously talented and will be forgotten if we don't remember them. Thanks for remembering & Godspeed, Kevin.

I was there, too. Taped it as it played on KYMS. Wrote the date on the tape: March 28, 1981. By the way, my brother got personalized plates that said, "SCB JAMS." During a double concert at Harvest one year, we showed Bryan the plates, and he played the concert with it propped up on his keyboard!
